    Hello everyone,

    I know its only been a few days since I was instated as an Elf Leader by Jake. However, Rivendell, the home of the Elf main has a few suggestions we would like to throw out there.

    Im not gonna beat around the bush here, so ill get straight to the point. Make Elf a 3 limit for PPM/officials, Sharpness II and revert the old wind element (you know the one that would launch people).

    PPM Hosts and Reps are in charge of making class limitations. Most elf changes that've been made have been made for various reasons

    I never understood why elf was so limited in the first place. In my opinion it should be a constant 3 limit instead of 1. Theres no way elf should be restricted in matches/PPMs to the same level of assassin, pyro or archer. Im not sure why the sword was nerfed in the first place, there was no need to. Elf is already weak as it is, a return to sharpness II instead of sharpness I would be great especially because earth element was removed (Elf's biggest counter to ninja). Personally new wind element was great (whenever there wasnt a 15 block radius). Although i don't play the server anymore, old wind element was far more fun than the current wind element. It also made capping far more easier, because you could push dwarves and pyros off the flag to get an easier steal whereas with the new wind element you cant do anything to aid you cap. You could also do numerous other things with the older wind element that makes the class more creative, the way elf should be. I personly love the change to water element, but the cooldown is far too high. 18 seconds for 3 hearts of regen is just bad, the cooldown should also be reduced to around 10 seconds. I'm also unsure why earth element was removed, it actually was a strong nerf to elf believe it or not. Earth element could be used in many ways such as; a strong counter to ninja (not allowing them to strafe), stopping soldiers from wall spamming and just another element that makes the class even more creative, again, the way elf should be.

    As jake said above though, why is it restricted to the same degree as assassin, pyro, and archer? It cant really kill that well if the enemy has a strong defense. So why not reward the players who know how to play the hardest class in ctf by making a max of 3? At least for officials.

    Well, because I think people are scared of it...

    I do not play elf very often so I cannot really comment on the changes you proposed, but in terms of the limit, that is something that the two leaders mutually agree on or the PPM host sets. I do not think setting a certain uniform limit for elf (or any class) for matches is a good idea. I guess if you want to be able to use more elves, you have to ask for it.

    But like I just wanna know why people have the mentality of 1 elf in the first place. And why would they nerf the damage of Elf? A class with already weak armor, and the highest learning curve in ctf. Doesn't seem very friendly to new players ;-;
    You made it take 4 hits to kill a ninja, and 3 for a ninja to kill an elf. Again, brawl wants new players right? Doesn't seem like a way to make them stay if they get melted by a skilled ninja while trying to steal.

    ^^ this wasnt all towards u foodcourt i was just getting my opinion out there

    I don't really know if this has changed at all or anything but a lot of people find elf extremely irritating to play against and it is really effective and disrupting offensive pushes by splitting the offenders. One elf can do this pretty well by itself and therefore reps or ppm hosts may feel that it would be too overpowered if there are 2 elves doing it together, this is obviously dependent on the size as well.

    extremely irritating yes, but effective no. A team is near guarenteed to lose if they run a double elf defence. Elf defence only works if you have defenders along side the elf that can deal high amounts of damage. 2 or more elves on defence is far too squishy and not effective. I guess this comes down to the PPM hosts decesion though about the elf limit.

    Then thats it niche right? Defense. Honestly ctf needs more diversity, the same classes are always being played. People are too scared to play elf because of the difficulty or because of the unnecessary advantage ninja has over it. A good ninja will easily kill an Elf, no matter what.

    +1 for all the suggestions. I put forth reverting wind element because while vortex is a bit more intuitive for learning, it also lacks the creative freedom that I think is the hallmark of elf. There's only so much you can do with vortex compared to the old burst - it was actually a very useful weapon, and I don't think the freedom/potential uses of elf (or any class, for that matter) should be sacrificed for a more intuitive experience. In general, I think all classes should encourage ingenuity/experimentation over rigid roles.

    what elf is lacking is an arrow that deals an area of effect similar to earth element - vortex's AoE would need to be increased, but why do so when u already have pure element rooting the player down... it's two of the same thing but less buffed with the pure element

    so honestly, make pure element the best of all worlds, as in, give it earth element's large AoE ability to root (similar to both the current pure element and vortex, but have it in a more balanced state than each alone) while still being able to deal the pure damage with direct connected shots, and then give it the wind element back, making sure it is actually effective and just not pushing people back 2 blocks
    and buff water element already too
    gg? like, chemist got a major buff when it was least called for, where, if anything, atm it has too much mana (never thought it needed mana reduction on health pots), but then here's elf still left in the dust at a place its previous re-works had not done much of anything to better its balance - the reworks need to be (better) followed up, but that just never happened/happens


    EDIT: as for a restriction for 1 elf in matches, that's really silly - ofc a good player as elf will disrupt an offense, as would happen as literally any other class defending with ranged attacks or speed I at the very least

    restrictions in general...restricting diverse thinking and gameplay as u also mentioned @Im_Slingeh , are silly, ngl
    ...theres effective counters to everything, and if there isnt, then we should edit the balance of things
