    Hello ladies and gentlemen, we've got some more updates for you. Let's get into this.

    Engineer 2.0

    It's finally happening - one of the most controversial and disliked classes is getting a rework. Staff will be testing it over the coming week (starting from Monday, 11th of March), and when staff testing is done we will be releasing it to ranked (ELITE & MVP only) players for them to test as well. The rework will consist of a grenade launcher, a healing pillar, and a speed boost pad. Once mod testing has finished, we will make tweaks as necessary, give full details, and begin ELITE and MVP testing.

    Elf Wind Feedback

    We're looking at changing Elf's wind element. We have recently changed wind element and given it the vortex ability, and we're likely going to be changing it again based on your feedback. Please let us know what you think by voting on the poll at the top of the thread.

    The vortex tweak would include removing the restriction around the enemy flag, and the old wind tweak would likely be buffing its strength. This will be tested after Engineer 2.0 and the new content.

    Pyro Testing

    We've received a lot of feedback on Pyro since we reworked it a while ago. One of the most common complaints is how weak its armour is, especially when fighting Ninjas. To address this, we're going to be buffing Pyro's armour by buffing its chestplate to an iron chestplate for a week (starting from Monday, 11th of March AKA RIGHT NOW). Everyone will be able to test this during the course of this week. Based on the testing, we are considering decreasing Pyro's damage output to make up for it (since it's already quite difficult to kill a Pyro as other classes).

    New Content

    Over the coming week (starting from Monday, 11th of March), staff will be testing new content, and it will consist of a low-armored class that can swap with players and can increase damage to other players. We will tell you the specifics of the class at a later date once we are ready, but until then, you'll have to scout out yourselves to figure out the rest. :wink:

    If this passes, are we going to get money back for any item renames/stat tracking keys for removed items?

    the wait was worth it, but maybe a bit change on the engineer name, like do you expect them to walk around with grenade launchers?

    We can't just remove engineer
    ... Also it would mean that you need to buy it again

    I don't need spoilers or anything, but for the purpose of making maps for the upcoming wave, how much will we have to worry about restricting Engineer? Will it continue to be a concern or not (assuming this goes through)? It would be nice to be able to restrict less of the map, just so Necro doesn't have to pay for Engineer's playstyle.

    P.S. You certainly don't have to tell me; I can adjust restrictions next week on already-submitted maps if I need to, but I'd appreciate it if I had more time to make adjustments to the 2 completed and 1 WIP maps I'm making.

    Why only staff members, y not Players that are playing ctf for a Long time. I mean we (the community) are more online then staff members so we can test more (I think).


    I think its still too weak, I got killed and killed pyros as ninja and it wasnt a Problem for the other ninja Fighting me or me Fighting a pyro.

    Sorry for big letters its just my german Keyboard doing that -_-

    Old wind for a greater capping elf. Considering that's what the class is used for then old wind element is greater than vortex. If old wind is added, sharpness two is needed. Earth element needs a return, one of the greatest counters to ninja. Considering we are buffing elf because of ninja, earth element is a great way to do so. Make it use one arrow, but have a cooldown of four seconds. This means arrows can still remain for winding, but also making the earth element not spammable.

    Staff testing is only for this week because we are identifying whether or not there are any serious bugs/issues with both of the classes before releasing them to public testing, due to them being major gameplay changes. Ranked players, as stated in the thread, have the chance to test the rework & new class from next week.

    Personally, I believe the change is fine and it stops an unbuffed ninja from actually crit killing you in two hits, which was the main reason why we upgraded the chestplate to iron. Thanks for the feedback though.

    Still discussing changes for elf. Thank you for the ideas.

    I have absolutely no clue how most of these classes work [mostly because i have not actually tried them yet]. However, from seeing @scapezar and @MoistMayonnaise using them, i will be able to make a few judgements [may be incorrect as i have not used them yet].

    Engineer- I have only seen the tnt [grenade launcher i believe] in action so i can only say true stuff about the tnt.
    The tnt does decent damage compared to the turret before the rework.
    Engineer seems somewhat balanced now, it has an adequate damage source, can still boost teammates and provides
    a healing mechanism. It's roughly the same in terms of damage and usefulness as before [assuming the engineer has
    average skill which is what most engineers have].
    The main issue with engineer before this rework was that its usefulness varied on the skill of the engineer and the amount
    of players in the game.
    If the engineer is very skilled and there are ten players on the engineer's team, it could possibly result in a victory for the
    engineer's team. However, if the engineer was unskilled and the game had little players in it, the engineer would be pretty useless.
    So therefore, the usefulness varied immensely [large range of differences of usefulness].
    However, this current engineer had its usefulness at a stable level [engineer cannot be very overpowered or plain useless].
    Scout- I have only seen the projectile which makes a swap between players and the death tag, so i can only say reliable statements
    about those.
    Scout appears to be severely underpowered as the swap can only impact the result of the game, if it swaps with a flag carrier.
    If the scout does swap with the flag carrier, the scout will probably get killed unless it has teammates with it, and even then
    using some other recovery class such as ninja or assassin would probably be better than scout in terms of recovery.
    The absorption literally does nothing, replacing it with regeneration would help remedy this.
    Deathtag is not very useful because there is not that much damage done, instead of hitting the player with the death tag,
    the scout could have used the iron sword which would deal damage instantly, whereas using the death tag does not provide
    an efficient damage output. It lasts for 20 seconds, so the player could just run away for that 20 seconds. It also provides a
    damage increase for the victim, which may be devestating for the scout if the enemy is a buffed ninja or something like that.
    Scout is pretty weak, even if it does try to steal the flag, it can only get so far due to its weak armor, even if it does swap multiple
    times in an attempt to capture the flag.

    From what I've seen in game, scout seems a bit underpowered in my opinion, or at least not enjoyable to play because the whole class seems to be designed to serve the team, and only for that purpose. You have almost nothing to really defend yourself and do damage and fight someone on your own. I think I wouldn't call it underpowered in the sense that it is not useless because the swap is great for your teammates, in order to recover or steal the flag, so it might heavily influence the result of the game in your favor, but I would call it weak. Indeed, it seems like it can't win any fight alone against any enemy. Also yes it can look fun to play because of the swap but after 10 minutes you will probably already be bored. The death tag is also an ability that only serves the team because even if it gives you a small advantage , it is not enough to fight an enemy with just helmet and boots considering that your enemy even gets 1,5x damage.
    I think the class has potential and could be great but needs to be more powerful on its own and not only help the team because yes, contributing to the win of your team is cool but if you almost always have to keep yourself out of the fight and can't 1v1 anyone, it isn't enjoyable to play.

    Yes not 2 crits anymore but every Player whos playing ninja (as often as possible) its still easy to kill a pyro… thats why im saying, but if most Players would say that this new pyro is good now, i will accept that

    so its easy kill = easy creds?

    Kind of a **** thing not describing what the new reworks/classes do and what its abilities are while you guys are using it already. Just played 5 minutes fighting the new engineer - and even though I would have probably been able to figure it out after some time - those 5 minutes alone had me annoyed quite a bit and made me want to leave again because it was just upsetting getting spammed by tnt having no idea what's going on or how to counter it because you have no clue how it works, due to poor transparency on your guys' side.
