    CTF Academy is an idea I've had for a long time, based off of the LoL pro system. What I want to create is, starting as a squad, hopefully turning into a full team for new players. I was having a discussion with a new player, about possibly joining the team I lead, and they said that they think my team was too good, named a couple of players they said were really talented players. I told them that when they joined my team, they were all pretty new and very bad as well, only through being on the team and learning more about the game did they get good.

    This lead me back to this idea i had a while ago, about a team of new players, designed to introduce players into the team scene. This team would hopefully be the first team for a lot of new players, who would get team and match experience here, then hopefully go and fill other teams with active new players who aren't scared of joining a talented team anymore. If something like this existed when I joined the team scene, I know I personally would have done this.

    In order to not allow it to just go under, we're going to implement a new system. Coaches will be veteran players who are on a different team, and basically be the mercs of this new team, but provide advice and teaching about teams and the team scene, give tips and provide players with the ins and outs of CTF and CTF competitive. There won't be many coaches, in order to avoid turning it into a veteran hang out, and not to scare off new players. There will be a separate application for this, hopefully a couple of active veterans would be willing to help out with this.

    In order to not overcrowd it with veteran players, the discord will have the coaches and members only, sorry, maybe this will change but for now this seems better.

    Team Experience: I've been on 3 CTF teams. Death From Above, The Blue Flaggers, and Delta Force. Been on Delta Force for 5 years.
    Match Experience: I have a lot of experience playing in matches and shotcalling certain things in-game.
    What Can You Bring to Help the New Players: I have a fairly good concept of more complicated ways teams should space themselves and what classes should be killed first/last, etc. And other things that are relevant in competitive play.

    I'd love to be involved in this in any way I can!

    Cool idea!! I also had to read this thread 3 times before I finally understood but this is an excellent idea! Hopefully newer players will want to actively participate in this c:

    Team Experience: inadequate but I've been somewhat actively engaging in the team scene for about a year now.
    Match Experience: also inadequate ~~ I've played in several ppms here and there and also participated in a few scrims & matches, but I wouldn't say that I've had a lot of match experience.
    What Can You Bring to Help the New Players: i would like to attempt helping new players who reside in my beautiful timezone and might possibly be able to teach new players how to be a competent flex player (off and def) and if needed some med/assassin tech, but mostly about how to adapt to changing match/game conditions + how to SUPPORT + general game strategy/knowledge I think I would be rather approachable and friendly towards new players so yea there's that too

    Also this should be advertised in-game. :smile:

    Team Experience: been a part of the team scene for about a year and a half now. i've been actively helping out & i have plenty experience overall. i've been representing & leading 3 teams and i have been a part of a few others.
    Match Experience: I have been participating in many matches of all types - unnoficials, officials, PPM's, co-ops, team v PPM's, etc.
    What Can You Bring to Help the New Players: I have very much experience when it comes down to the basics of the game which will make me able to teach newer players a lot about how the game in general works. I would be able to teach a lot about how the competetive scene works aswell considering I have a decent amount of team experience. I can teach where and how to play as certain classes & how to play offence / defence properly.

    What Can You Bring to Help the New Players: By being an active CTF player for the past six years, I have seen how the game has evolved and how strategies have been changed.     What Can You Bring to Help the New Players: Recovery tips and tricks, team coordination, team strategy, etc... Mostly experienced with any and all strategies regarding offensive/defensive ninja, defensive assassin, and defensive soldier.

    What Can You Bring to Help the New Players: Good game sense and map knowledge. As an offense main Ive always been good at knowing what classes to switch to. Knowing what classes to switch to is vital to get past a certain defensive pattern, gamestyle or certain classes. Ive also been good at communication, and often flag pass to make a capture more effective. I believe poor communication and lack of flag passes lead to an offense failing the majority of times. If I got the chance to help offense players these are some vital things that can boost individuals to the next level.
    I enjoy training people and have also trained multiple people the elf class in the past. I would love to be apart of this to show off some of my individual tricks or skills to new players.
