Class Mains

There's a big 3 for me... if you asked me a couple years ago, my answer would always be Soldier, but I've picked up other interests overtime to the point where the answer to this question may vary depending on who you ask.

My first main was Soldier, ever since way back in 2013. First reason being it accomplished the goal of the game (at least for its namesake) the best, Capture the Flag. Along with that, I've always had a fascination for how the class's "flight" mechanics work and I would enjoy a Soldier's ability in real life too. Last reason would probably be my bad computer back then, making PvP more difficult and thus Soldier's escapist tactics, more appealing. Soldier is probably where most of my competitive accomplishments are found, being a key component in Scorch's offense

Second main was Assassin. Hard to pinpoint when exactly I started picking the class up, but I would just select it every once in a while in casual games. Then, during a 1v1 tournament, people randomly found out that my Assassin was pretty decent despite never really playing it much. So I picked up more on it and actually really began to enjoy the playstyle and deceptiveness the class uses.

Third main (and probably most prominent rn) would have to be Elf. Every once in a while in Scorch practices, I would go Elf and our call would get significantly louder whenever I entered the flagroom in green armor. Especially after the Elf Rework (the one that removed Earth Element), I began to use more Elf because of its underdog nature when it came to capping and the variety it provided compared to simple soldier climbing. Pure element, old wind, and shield all became extremely fun overtime and they are part of why Elf is my default class when logging onto CTF.

Would be interesting to ask some friends and see which one they think of when I ask them what my main is...

I main scout these days, because the death tag seems necro-ish. Before then, I'm sure you can guess, I mained necro, because my character, Gehenna Beam, is somewhat of a necromancer, relying on undead minions to do his bidding.

 

I guess we'll go with top 3.

Most people know I really started out with assassin. This was due to my early days on CTF played on a laptop. Even though I had a mouse, I could easily play the class on a laptop and PVP wasn't obviously my strength.

Started getting into ninja back when ghosting and instacapping was a major thing (10 ender pearls anyone?). As I began to join teams, I would main assassin but practice ninja defense and recovery. Eventually, I became somewhat average at the class. Especially at recovering against other ninja cappers/ghosters.

As of the past 2 years, I developed a serious appreciation and fondness for Chemist. I know a many few in the community hate chemist players, especially these days. Chemist was a class that absolutely destroyed my KDR when I first tried it. Literally up to this point I had no detailed innerworkings of Minecraft PVP and CTF was my only PVP experience for the most part. This changed as I started learning POT and Gapple forms of PVP. The class forced me to learn more integrated and skilled responses to fights and to know a bit about how each class works within the game when it comes to damage and health. Chemist is multipurpose and if played decently it can counter almost any class within reason.

Notable mentions:

• Pyro, back when it was instakill. Especially on OLD Halo. Those were some fun days.

• Archer when I'm seriously bored and want to troll people.
  
• Elf for a bit, back when it had the old mechanics.

 

Following the barista's post, I decided to just mention my top 3 classes.

MCCTF
Because my main CTF server at the time was dying out (Rip LavaCraft), I found MCCTF. First starting out on the MCCTF server, I played with an HP Mini, HORRIBLE internet, and played with a trackpad. I was at a severe disadvantage, so I played classes that were primarily insta-kill or EFFORTLESS. I started out as an engineer main!!! Surprise!!!! When I got bored of afk killing ninjas,I switched it up. I first mained archer because it was easy to aim with a trackpad and I hardly needed engaged in close combat. I then switched to pre-rework offense pyro when I go better with the trackpad, and eventually graduated to ninja, albeit I was horrible at close combat pvp as having a CPS was difficult to maintain when you're spam clicking and trying to aim with two fingers.

BRAWL
Fast forward a few years later I upgraded to a better LAPTOP with better internet -- I even bought a mouse! I slowly improved at close combat pvp, although I still suck horribly in my opinion. During this time, my game sense also improved. With better gear, improved skills, and better game sense, I began experimenting with other classes. Nowadays, you'll primarily find me failing at chemist or sweating as ninja. I usually rotate the free classes and assassin for my third slot, and play mage or elf when I want to annoy someone. I hardly touch engineer or necro as they're not my cup of tea.

I started ctf in mcpvp. Back then, I first mained pyro because of how OP it was. I just loved instakilling everyone, and the feeling of being impassable. I was mainly playing defence and I found offense too hard (lol), it was mainly full games and I kept dying to archers or pyros. I played pyro quite normally, waiting in the flag room for offenders to come and I could actually be impactful even though I was bad.

Other than that, I used to play a lot of assassin too, mainly in defense, and ninja, in both offense and defence. I also tried offense with soldier from time to time.

Then, I got "inspired" by the few chemist mains, like PilasterMaster, and I loved how you could win any fight and become almost unstoppable if you used it well. It is a very double-edged class though, as it is extremely difficult to play and only effective if you master it. I was awful at it for a very long time, mainly because I was bad in pvp and wasn't so fast at potting. I had really small hands and I was really struggling to reach most keys. I kept trying because I loved the class and I wanted to get better at it.
At this point, not so long before the merge to brawl, I was a bit bored of pyro and waiting in the flag room during the whole game, with sometimes nobody even coming to steal, I wanted real action so that's when I started playing almost exclusively offense.

When I came back, I changed my hotkeys for chemist, which made it incredibly easy to play, and continued maining it until now.

 

Pyro main bc no one else wanted to do it, so I just said in for a penny in for a pounding and now it’s my main

I’m an archer main because I played with a trackpad when I first started playing ctf so.

 

Lol is it weird that I don't main anything cuz I'm a flex player?! I kinda just play anything that is needed/fill roles :') but I think my comfort picks are soldier/medic soldier was the first ever class I picked up along with ninja, but I wasn't that good at ninja because I am not very mechanically skilled so I settled on playing soldier on offense for the most part until I wanted to expand my class pool and ended up picking up medic as medic really fit my playstyle and it feels good to support others as they go in to make a play, etc. I also found that I'm decently good at throwing webs to the places that I want to throw them too so in the early stages of the game it was mainly just me practising where to place webs in order to blocc the enemy/hinder their progress but I think now I'm much much better at that. I'm not even sure what I main so sjsjjjks shoutout to all the flex players out there

Since my early days on mcpvp i was mainly maining (uhh that alliteration) soldier and medic, because of infinite wallclimb- those good old days - and more Steak with the medic. Yeah, i´m still a miserable pvper.
for circa one year now i´m playing msotly defense instead of offense, swapping my roles… capturing doesn´t give me that feeling anymore

I main two classes: Mage and Assassin.

Assassin
I originally picked up assassin bc it sounded fun, like every match was a game of hide and seek and I love hide and seek. I also love that its less about pop skill and more about finding people's tells. So I got it and got crazy amounts of credits and was MVP for a lot of matches. About two weeks into my assassin career I found out I was pretty good bc got a /msg from Foodcourt who asked if I wanted to join their team and I was really happy about it so I said yes. (I wasn't sure what teams were but I just joined because it was summer and my friends were out of the country/state). After that I got two more team offers but had to turn them down bc I was already taken. I haven't played assassin in a ppm for a long time, though, so people probably forget I'm an assassin main lol.

Mage
Most people know me for playing mage and being really annoying, because of my play style. Usually I play it as more of a support/stall class but in casual I usually just go for kills or practice my stalling strats. I originally picked it up because I wanted to broaden my horizons and not only play medic and assassin (mostly bc everyone wants to assassin in matches). Now its my favorite class to play so I don't mind not going assassin.

 

The only reason I started maining archer is because my index finger got tired

 

i main offense because my pvp isnt good enough for defense and medic because all i have to do in theory is hit the flag carrier twice, respawn/die, then hit them twice again uwu
