    Seems about time this cancerous class got some more attention for rework.


    Current mage stuff as observed in game:

    Damage spell - 4.5 hearts (to ninja), 0.5 hearts (to heavy) /Just to put that into perspective, mage's damage spell actually does more damage than a heavy hit/ ; 1 second cd {Damage spell travels ~18 blocks}

    Fire spell - 3 hearts + 1.5 hearts fire damage (to ninja), 1 heart + 1.5 hearts fire damage (to heavy) ; 3 second cd

    Lightning - 3 hearts (to ninja and heavy) ; 5 second cd {Travels ~10 blocks}

    Regen - Lasts 4-5 seconds. Has 7 second cd and can heal through 3 ninja hits (effectively takes 5 consecutive ninja hits to kill a mage)


    At the minute mage is just a spamming class which can regenerate its abilities faster than it can be killed plus it's a ranged class with no mobility hinders (such as the slowness of pulling a bow that pyro and archer suffer from), so actually reaching the mage while it's holding s and right click is near impossible without mobility classes such as ninja or assassin.



    Proposed Rework:
    Aims to make mage a support class


    Armour - Same as current mage

    Items - Diamond hoe, Wooden hoe, Stone hoe, Iron hoe, Golden hoe

    Diamond Hoe / Damage Spell - Same as current mage except deals 3 hearts of damage with a 2 second cooldown. Spell projectile travels 8 blocks.
    Wooden Hoe / Fire Spell - Exactly the same as current mage
    Stone Hoe / Lightning Spell - Hitting the lightning spell roots target for 2 seconds (unable to move but can still attack). Has 7 second cooldown
    Iron Hoe / Blink Spell - Teleports mage 12 blocks in the direction it's facing. Has 7 second cooldown
    Golden Hoe / Heal Spell - Heals 5 hearts in a 4x4x4 AoE. Has 10 second cooldown

    Seems interesting. I'm all for a Damage Spell Nerf, and the new Lightning Spell basically combines it with Freeze, which is a cool idea IMO. All in all, an interesting idea.

    The idea is ok..
    However, the lightning spell especially paired with the blink spell in my mind seems extremely cancerous, very simular to elf vortex.
    Does the lightning do damage aswell as stun? Or just the stun? If so, that's not as bad.

    Was thinking just stun. Anyways this post was meant to encourage more ideas to come forward about a better mage than what we have atm
