    Now that WarZ is being somewhat revived, the same old people that used X-Ray in the past are coming back to use it again, along with other clients that are hard to distinguish from lag (prime example would be Australians but they don't play at the moment so). Currently, there is absolutely no reliable way to get somebody accurately banned for X-Ray on WarZ. This has been one of the biggest issues with the game since it was released. This thread has been made many times over, all advocating for screensharing to be allowed on Brawl but since there is literally no downside to allowing it now I don't see why it shouldn't be added, specifically for WarZ.

    Note: I am only asking for a screensharing protocol to be implemented for WarZ. I understand it would be a huge hassle to train the entire staff team to do it, and WarZ is really the only server that needs it.

    Some points that have been brought up in the past are that "it's an invasion of privacy", or "we would have to train our entire staff team to do it properly", etc. For the first point, the server literally gets a max of around 20 players. Out of the people that play, I can almost guarantee that everybody has been screenshared at least once. The only people that see it as an "invasion of privacy" or pull that card are the people who cheat and don't want to be screenshared. Nobody has a stash of hentai sitting on their computer that they don't want people to see. I know this community, I've been a part of it since 2012/2013. There is not a SINGLE person who plays WarZ that wouldn't screenshare if they weren't cheating. If they were at risk for being false banned, those people would screenshare without any hesitation whatsoever (I have seen this happen multiple times within the community). Again, the only people that don't screenshare are the people who have something to hide.

    When WarZ was on the bootleg server several months ago, screensharing was allowed for the staff team (specifically Cheatsmasher). This was an extremely efficient way of getting players banned. They would be frozen in place on the server when they were suspected of cheating (via command), and if they left the server while frozen they would be banned (if I remember correctly it wasn't permanent, might be wrong though). They would be asked to screenshare via Cheatsmasher (most of the time by @dalt0n I think), and they would be banned if they were found with a client. This is the ONLY solution to combating X-Ray on the server.

    As for the second point I made, this would only have to be implemented on WarZ. And, obviously the WarZ staff would have to be knowledgeable on screensharing. But here's the thing, there is literally only one WarZ staff member currently and SEVERAL people who currently have apps up who will most likely be accepted. Out of literally everybody who applied for WarZ staff, I'm confident in saying they all know how to efficiently screenshare a player. And if they don't, they can be easily taught. It's not a difficult thing to learn, and training them is 100% worth the results.

    I've already asked several people if they wanted to come back to Brawl, and more than half of them stated the reason they left in the first place was because it got stale with all the closet-cheaters who would never be punished. These are the same people who played the bootleg server because screensharing was allowed.

    Another point that's been brought up is that "it's very easy to hide your cheats from a screenshare". From a normal screenshare such as over discord, sure. From what I know, however, it is incredibly difficult to hide any external client from somebody screensharing you utilizing Cheatsmasher. Cheatsmasher is an anti-cheat tool that searches a player's pc for hacked client strings and files. It is incredibly accurate as well.

    tl;dr, the incoming WarZ staff should be trained to properly screenshare on the servers (if they don't already know how to do so). Otherwise, people are going to continue X-Raying/cheating without punishment and the server will just die out again like it has multiple times in the past.

    @SoCool21

    Thanks

    @Communications I agree with you, it is going to be hard for "fairly players with xray" to play because of this. I've been staff on another MC-WarZ server as you probably know after hackers ruled the Brawl one without staff. I gained a lot of knowledge from this because it was designed the same as Brawl WarZ but with the twist that I made a Screenshare Protocol. The owner decided to make Xray allowed because every single player used it. We changed the rules a lot of times and when I screenshared everyone it was special and at the same time weird to not have Xray. So when we stopped allowing xray half the server got banned. This is really hard to regulate but in order to get rid of hackers we need to add a Screenshare Protocol but only SS if you've been reported for hacking or something.

    As a previous staff for the WarZ community on another photocopy server this worked very well when I remade it.

    Rules and instructions for Staff regarding screensharing [MOD+].
    You are only allowed to screenshare someone if they are reported on the forums or ingame. (/report [player] [reason])

    If the player is reported you do /freeze [player]. so nobody can shoot the suspected player and vise verse. Then you tell them;

    “[name] you have 5 minutes to add [Staff Discord Name] on Discord for a screenshare. If you decide to leave the server it is a 7 day ban.

    Here we can only ban if the player are currently on a client and you do not ask them to go further into their versions etc since everyone has clients.

    Is this something that Brawl could use, any thoughts?

    Pfft idk while screensharing is a good and reasonably reliable way to detect closet cheaters a) half of the current hack crop (at least in Soup gamemodes, not sure how WarZ is but I imagine quite similar) are incredibly tough to find even with a really good screenshare or a screenshare program
    b) it is, legally, an invasion of privacy in some countries and you could get yourself prosecuted which isn't something Br00l really wants methinks
    c) training a good screenshare moderator is a long and time-consuming process, plus it's a lot of trust to place on their shoulders both as an administrator of the network and as a screenshared player

    The clients on WarZ are not as complicated as you think. Yes there are TONS of clients now for Pvp that are almost undetectable by any program but WarZ clients are either:

    1. Old
    2. Not ghost clients

    Besides, the main issue isn't aimbotters at this point, it's Xray and staff have already taken action towards Xrayers.

    I was looking in ideas, and I saw this, and just read everything. And to be honest, I completely agree, we need strict punishments for hacking and we need some sort of way to draw out cheaters, x-ray users and anyone with a unfair advantage. I'd really recommend the staff team especially the ones who make the rules, to look back at this, this a very simple, smart strategy to reduce hacking/cheating.

    As someone who recently came back and has had multiple people cheat against me, I actually approve of this idea. Now I may not have when I first played this server but to keep it alive now I think this should be implemented. It could really help the community and keep current players current.
