Forum's asleep, let's post a new class idea.

    Name: Fisherman

    Symbol: Fishing Rod

    Armor:
    • Iron Helmet
    • Light Blue Leather Chestplate
    • Light Blue Leather Leggings
    • Light Blue Leather Boots
      • Depth Strider 2
    Items:
    • Stone Sword ("Fish Gutter")
    • Fishing Rod
      • Upon hooking someone with the Fishing Rod, they will be pulled towards the Fisherman.
      • You can cast the Fishing Rod into your Whirlpool (see next item) or a body of Water on the map, and after a few seconds, another fish will be added to your inventory.
        • If you are attacked while doing this, it will be interrupted.
    • Water Bucket
    • Creates a Whirlpool, a 2x2 area of swirling water particles that gives Slowness to anyone inside of it.
    • When a Whirlpool is out, this becomes a regular bucket that can be used to pick up the Whirlpool again by right-clicking it.
    • Your Whirlpool disappears if you are killed.
    • Fish
    • Replaces Steak, can have a max of 6.
    • The Fisherman will spawn with 3 Fish.
    • On the Red Team, the fish will be Salmon. On the Blue Team, they will be Cod/Fish.
    • Can be eaten with RClick, causing it to restore 4 hearts of health.
    • LClick allows the fish to be thrown onto the ground.
      • If anyone who isn't a Fisherman or an enemy Fisherman picks up the fish, it will heal them for 5 Hearts of Health and give Speed 1, Strength 1, and Water Breathing for 6 seconds.
        • If this is used on a Scout, it will boost their Speed Level to 3 for the duration of the effect.
      • If another allied Fisherman picks it up, it will be added to their hotbar.
      • If a non-Fisherman enemy picks it up, they will take 2 Hearts of True Damage.
And that's just about everything. With this class, I was going for a hybrid Offense/Support class with unique and useful tools for a variety of playstyles. Let me know what you think!

Interesting idea, but I don't think it would be that strong of a support class considering that your teammates actually have to pick up the fish. In casual circumstances, it is especially hard as both enemies and teammates will be walking all over the map. Should it be used as an offensive support class, the fishes will again be pretty useless given that there are even more enemies concentrated in a small space (the flagroom) so it is really hard for your teammate who is going into the flagroom or trying to get out of the flagroom to pick up the fishes you've dropped to heal. Contrasted with Medic on the other hand, which has a direct and specific source of healing, which is through the use of the Medic sword, allows for the Medic to efficiently and effectively heal the person of choice, not to mention the regeneration and restore that comes through from Medic is much better than healing only 3 hearts per fish as I think 3 hearts is really too little.

I think a good way to fix this would be to have mixed effects, kinda like how Necro skulls work at the moment, so effects will be differentiated amongst allies and enemies. For allies, you could either increase the amount of healing the fishes do, have the fishes also give the player absorption hearts/regeneration, or buff the ally briefly (such as giving the player speed). For enemies, you could have the fish slow them down, give them a poison effect (or even better, have the poison effect linger until the player drops the fish out of their inventory! I know that classes that are not Fisherman are not intended to be able to have these fishes added into their inventory or able to be picked up in the first place, but it would be interesting to see how players adapt to the situation with this interesting game mechanic.) or deal pure damage to the player. You could also change the way this works, and have the fish that are dropped have an area of effect around them instead (focusing more on map control and so on).

I think the Whirlpool idea is fine, but maybe the area of effect should be larger so it affects more players at once or have a larger degree of slowness so that this will reward intelligent play (difference between obstructing your teammate or the enemies). Fishing rod is also fine, but could you specify the amount of time it will take to regenerate another fish? I feel like something such as 5 seconds would be ok.

I feel like the armor of this class is also pretty weak, given that it has quite low damage output (stone sword) and the abilities which it has and its intended role as a support/offense class. This class would most probably get bursted by any defensive class, namely ninjas. I suggest you either give the class a better sword, so as to facilitate a type of glass cannon playstyle, or give it more armor so that it is able to exert more control over the different areas of the map and be able to perform its role as an offense/support class.

Overall, it's a pretty interesting idea but I feel like it could be further streamlined.

Interesting class... the fishing rod might be its most powerful asset, really OP on defense, but it also reminds a lot of scout swapping...

i like the idea of the fish and auro's suggestion

so maybe a 5 second cooldown on the rod if the hook is successful, give the class slowness I, and increase its armor quite a bit ... could be a (low damage output) tank support class

and wondering if any other cool ability can be added to fit the theme

Reworked Fish slightly to your suggestions, and expanded the Whirlpool to 2x2. What do you guys think?

Having the whirlpool cover a larger area definitely helps the class as a whole and improves generally the utility of the class

Also I wanted to ask: is there a cooldown on the whirlpool ability? Is it a thing that can be kinda spammed if near a water source? (aka rapidly picking up water and placing it down again) If so, is this intended/are you planning on giving it a cooldown?

So, the way the Bucket works is that you must pick up your Whirlpool in the bucket to refill it. It can't be refilled at just a Water Source.

Ctf is crowded at the moment but I still appreciate the idea, very creative. It's a very good class idea but as I said, there should not be any new additions to the game yet. I think, personally, Dwarf should get the fishing rod listed in the post. It would add defensive ability to the very immobile class, making it better against soldiers and elves escaping before they can even get the chance to hit them.

The problem with giving dwarf the fishing rod is that even when a class gets pulled in it can just escape again before it gets hit or hit the dwarf again. This sounds like an interesting concept for a class to me.

Yes, i agree and the player can also get knocked away again with dwarfs knockback which is just as bad for the dwarf as it is for the enemy.
