    What’s the idea of the Angel?


    Angel is a ranged healer with the ability to jump high.

    What is unique about Angel is its restore mechanic, similar to Dwarf’s sneak mechanic. Raking up restores empowers your abilities. It’s the opposite of a kill*****, so initially this class concept was called Heal****.

    Angel’s restores are relatively difficult to pull off, because you have to shoot your allies from 25+ blocks away. This is compensated with the following option: at a cost of 5 XP levels, hitting an ally with the apple restores their items.


    A multifaceted tool is of course the Jump Boost and Feather Falling, which helps with all of the following three categories. Although you need to rake in restores to make the jump boost impactful.


    Angel’s healing tools:

    • Healing with small AoE bow shots

    • Ranged restoring

    • Melee restores with Apple (costs 5 XP)
    Biggest downside is that you cannot restore someone within 25 blocks without losing 5 XP.


    Angel’s self-defense tools:

    • Slow passive Regen

    • Self restore with Apple (costs 5 XP)

    • Knockback with Bow (only at higher XP)
    Biggest downside is that you have negative resistance, so incoming damage is increased by 20%.


    Angel’s attack tools:

    • Golden Axe

    • Bow

    • Knockback with Bow (only at higher XP)
    Biggest downside is that you cannot block, so no damage reduction or preventing assassinations.

    This is a really great idea! As a medic, I would like to experiment with different types medics and I think this would be a great addition!

    Already gave most of my ideas on this class idea but I think it's pretty great and would be a nice addition to CTF as a high skill cap sort of class. I'm sure we could do with more skilful classes in the game, along with needing more support classes in the game this would be a great sort of addition to CTF!

    However, there are of course things that need to be better fleshed out such as how easy it is to pull off a restore and whether you'd want that to be the main mechanic to gain XP, as well as help it be a more versatile class and not having to be sort of restricted to one kind of playing style. I feel like this idea definitely has a lot of potential, and I think with some tweaking here and there and consequently maybe even testing (who knows) we'll get a better feel for how impactful this class would be in the game. c:

    Also idk whether you should call this class a guardian since it isn't really a guardian, maybe something like Ranger would be a better name for it (even tho I know Ranger sounds pretty lame lol)

    @auromelt your feedback is insightful! I added a page for it in the document where I discuss changes.
    regarding the name, I went with Guardian bc its like a guardian angel when Guardian heals you from far away!
    Could also name it Angel I suppose.

    Heyo,
    I absolutely love how you added a different type of spin to a class suggestion. I don't think I have seen a long distance healer or buffer (apart from necro with skulls, yet I rarely see that in games.) I also believe that this is a nice spinoff from Mercy (hello my overwatch fans) with the long distance and high mobility healer. At the moment, personally, i believe that no classes should be added at the moment but definitely should be in the near future. I also enjoy the idea of Angel having an axe so that assassin isn't too underpowered with most classes and players being able to easily defend against the class. I feel it will be a very good balance to the game as we have a long distance healer, why not a long distance healer. This is a very respectable suggestion apart from it being a little bit of a Mercy copy.

    @Crashable Thanks for your review! It’s funny to see you see comparisons between Angel and Mercy, personally I see more comparisons with Baptiste :smile: I hadn’t thought about Necro as long range support, I wonder if that will see more play!
