Idea elf shield vs engineer tnt

I'm pretty sure the shield does reflect the TNT, however, the engineer can right click the shovel again when the TNT is in the air to detonate it, so if the engineer detonates it right before it hits the shield, it'll still damage you. But if they detonate it after the entity hits the shield, it won't damage you (but will damage them I think?).
At least that's how I think it works...

 

It works just really terribly in most situations similar to how elf shield punishes like mages damage spell; but it never reflects properly but there’s this other factor like Ivan says where engineers could be detonating it before it directly touches the shield thus making it a non projectile attack at that moment; if you want to block the tnt with most efficiency you’d need to be closer to the engi but even then there’s the chance they spam it to explode before it travels much

 

I've heard the damage spell reflects properly but projectiles can only travel a certain number of blocks. When it's reflected back, that distance isn't reset, and since the damage spell has such a short range, half the time it isn't enough to hit the mage again unless they're really close and not moving at all, but what mage doesn't move when shooting spells...
It works the same with arrows, if you shoot an arrow at an Elf 100 blocks away, the arrow will disappear midair after the Elf reflects it.

 

Yeah that’s what I’m using in reference to the tnt projectile, most situations an engineer is far enough that the tnt has followed most of its trajectory so it’s only gonna be reflected at a minimal distance if it doesn’t get detonated; its only in these close counter situations that it’d be reflected back at full speed but that’s more of a rare occurrence since engineer does a good job at keeping its distance like mage

 

Basically this. If I’m going up against an elf, always got to be aware of their ability to reflect, so yes detonating beforehand is a risky but viable tactic. IMO, the engi should lose ability to detonate after it gets reflected though.

 

we just need pyro with instakill to get the Class-Meta-Balance back.
