Recent discussions regarding the nature of the CTF Community have led me to another topic that I want to disclose for anyone who is still not entirely sure about what really happens beneath the surface.

Autoclickers
They are probably the least useful cheat in Minecraft pvp, but some people just have to get down on anything they can find. People with IQs in the range of 0-1 will just use them as they are and get banned when a mod looks up their logs - but alas, the legendary two digit IQ does exist! Just click randomly on top of a low-ish setting autoclicker to make it seem natural.

Reach
Boy do I love educating people on this mechanic.
You are lazy, boo you. You don't want to press tab. Kid gets a sus hit on you - he's hacking, right? His ping says otherwise, I guess you're just bad.
Toggle reach between 3.3 and 3.9 and you will bypass all forms of anticheat. Everyone will assume you are laggy, and if you don't, the people that do will just tell you to shut up.

Knockback Mods
Once again, 0-1 IQ people will just toggle antikb and get banned. But what happened literally 6 years ago? Some dude with a two digit IQ found out you could just modify the kb instead of removing it entirely. Reduce kb by 15-25% to effectively have the advantage without setting off packet warnings.

Conclusion
This type of **** has been around longer than I have. You can never fully confirm someone is legit without a versions screenshare. If I'm the first person to bring this kind of thing up, and any of you are surprised, may god have mercy on this server.

 

This is continued support to my earlier messages about the staff team trying to handle more than they can chew. They're doing the best they can with outdated resources, or at the very least no knowledge of the above until now. I've already made my point known, but I feel like these analyses are almost necessary with how little any of the topics I've brought up over the last month were discussed when I was trial.

 

I'm educating staff on why they're never going to be able to fully control this server without massive changes. While half the server probably already knows the above information or is already closet cheating, the information itself is here more as a reminder than a guide. Not sure how replying to threads with "this is dumb and irrelevant" is productive, seems like a dumb trend and still can't see the purpose of posting it.

I'll try to put this as clearly as I can:
CTF can not be properly moderated without a significant increase in staff member count and activity. Cheaters will (and have for a long time) always find their way around the anticheat, and you can only be 100% certain of a player's legitimacy by investigating via screenshare. Targeting of any kind can only be managed by a staff team that offers at least one active member at all times to spectate games and record evidence - not this whole process of "alright we'll get some clips on xday and xday and think on it." These are the ramifications of hosting a very free-lance type gamemode without the proper means for moderating it - it turns into anarchy.

 

The only way to even get close would be to have someone spectating a reported player for several hours, monitoring their ping and the ping of every player they fight, while also having extensive knowledge on the mechanics of kb and reach to come to a conclusion - it just isn't feasible. You have to tackle it at the source. You can be sure about someone, but screensharing will always confirm/deny their legitimacy or illegitimacy.
