Hello CTF Community. We will be kicking off our official MCCTF teams tournament starting this April. CTF's official teams will be competing with one another for the tournament championship and a chance to go down in the history books. Who will become this year's champion? Good luck and have fun to all!

Each match will be streamed and commentated courtesy of CTF Match Spotlight! Feel free to tune in to CMS for full coverage throughout this year's tournament.

    Timetable:

The group stage of this year's tournament will begin on April 17th and last for exactly four weeks. The playoff stage will last for two weeks upon the completion of the group stage. The entirety of the tournament will last a month and a half exactly.

    Procedure - Group Stage:

The format for the group stage will include all official teams. Two groups both of equal or similar sizes will be formed. Matches for the group stage will be played in a best of three format. The groups are listed below:

    [IMG] [IMG]

*Group seeding was made from compiled private ranking of eligible teams

*Rounds 4 and 5 from Red Conference will be played on the same weekend.

*In the case of a group stage tie, the tie will be broken by the result of the previous head-to-head match from the teams. If this results in a three way tie, map wins will be the next tiebreaker.

    Quick note on scheduling:
Prior to each week, every team will be informed of who they will be playing that week.
    • For example: Team A is told to have its group stage match with Team B on the week of April 27th → Team representatives will figure out a date and time to have the match.
    • The CTF committee will work closely with each team to make sure the scheduling process is easy and efficient.
    • If one team is unable to play the match at the agreed date and time, they will forfeit that game and the opposing team will receive a win.
    • If one team is found to be causing difficulty or blocking scheduling in any way, that team will forfeit that game and the opposing team will receive a win.
    Procedure - Bracket Stage:
The two top finishing teams in each group will move on to play a four team playoff bracket. The teams will be seeded #1-4 in accordance with their results in the group stage. Tiebreaker will be determined based on group stage seeding.

    Match Rules:

In an effort to increase continuity and similarity for the tournament, each match in this year's tournament will follow the same set of rules:
    • Each match will have base size of 10v10; teams may agree to a 12v12.
    • MMR
    • 1 Ninja Cap per map, no ghosting
    • 1x Archer, Assassin, Mage, Necro, Pyro, Scout
    • 2x Chemist, Medic
    • 3x Ninja
    • Max 4 of other classes not restricted above at a time
*Note that any class that receives major changes or any new class will not be reflected on the match server for the tournament.

    Maps:
For the group stage, teams will be able to pick from a list of seven pre-determined maps to play in each of their group stage matches. Individual team picks and agreed map pick must come from this pool during the group stage. The options are as follows:
    • Adrenaline [413375]
    • Forest of Rivals I [206110]
    • Bazaar [408999]
    • Dragon Valley I [254]
    • Lowrise [1196]
    • Pagodas III [393986]
    • Valley of Ruin IV [18991]
*Goal of the group stage is to have matches played on current rotation maps as the goal of the tourney is to prove who is the best team as of now.

For the bracket stage, the process will work differently. For the bracket stage, the process will work as follows:
    • The first map played in the semifinal and finals series will be a set map. For semis it will be Airlock I [369399], and for finals it will be Blackout [332204].
    • Whichever team loses map one (Airlock I or Blackout) will get to choose the next map played from any map currently in rotation. From there, the process repeats itself.
    • Example: Team A beats Team B on Blackout → Team B chooses the next map to be played → Team B wins the map they chose → Team A chooses the next map to be played.
*The rules above are being implemented for the post-group stage matches to promote matches being as fair as possible at this stage in the tournament. This avoids a situation where a team can 3-0 having played two of their pre-determined map picks, with the other team only playing one of theirs. The losers pick system gives teams a chance to counter pick and show off their true capability, so at the end of the day, the better team comes out on top. If a team can consistently win on the oppositions map picks, then they are the better team.

*Since the loser of the map chooses the next choice, if a map will end in a tie, an overtime period will occur where the next capture will determine the victor of the map.

    Prizing:
Here is everybody's favorite part: the prizes.

Red wins always. Team RED GO!

Red is like fire. Fire is for the Pyro.

Its sad that the 7th gen Teams can't play with the old Pyro. It would be better for the whole Team Scene if pyro has his instakill back.
i watch the streams and everything is so lame, because pyro is lame.
Everyone can play Soldier, Chemist, Heavy and easily get the flag and cap.
Its not challenging, its just to easy for everyone.
