Lower Match Size Limits

    It's a joke to call a 25v25 a "match" when dealing with this kind of CTF. You have 5+ archers per team making the trek to their side require more effort than it ever should, and defense on each team consists of sweaty ninjas and scouts that now have 11 people to hind behind while killing each 2 man offensive push.

    Reducing server sizes to 30 would solve most of these issues ("most" referring to the high probability that split servers would divide up the archer armies or sweaty regs). Actually, looking back on my previous posts, this would be a far better move than just getting more players, as that would only cause more brain damage over time. 15v15 is right at the top of the PPM limits, and while nobody expects servers to suddenly always function like PPMs, they will at least have more reasonable numbers against them. This would also innately reduce targeting, as the chances of a reg and their desired food being in the same server would be lowered.

    I have to admit, some of the games do get chaotic but I prefer the more hectic games. The fast paced play of CTF ties in well with the chaos of having many players. That said, I do get disappointed when I see ONE server completely filled to capacity and keeping non-members away when it can easily be split across two of the servers to allow more to play in fuller games rather than one overcrowded match along with another "Waiting for more players" match having anywhere from 1-3 players popping in and bailing out. :stuck_out_tongue:

    Read that back carefully, I'll give you a minute

    A new player will want to come back if they see 2 full servers instead of a 50 & 10

    Being too lenient can also lead to problems. Would you rather try to cap with 6 archers waiting for you or 3? It's more of a QoL upgrade than a regulation.

    A game's size shouldn't determine what rules it has; PPMs can literally fluctuate by a dozen players so I'm not sure what you were going for here.

    tbh the only reason this change would be beneficial is because the shady parts of the community make themselves very present in casual; It's their refuge when they aren't doing team related things where rules do exist. I'm just trying to find solutions that work around what most likely will never change in CTF, and unfortunately the community is a large factor to be considered. Again, there is such a thing as being too lenient, and the current rule & moderation profile for CTF does not keep up with the people who make this server a difficult place.

    I like the idea of lowering the server limits, but I feel 30 is too high. I'd prefer a limit of 40.

    if people didn't agree with this idea when i suggested it in the disc 3 months ago, even before people were stuck inside and player counts were lower, they certainly aren't going to agree with it now
