Heavy currently is in a state where it is very stale and boring to play and as a default class to newer players probably won't excite them. Here's my rework idea-

    Heavy

    Items
    Diamond Sword
    3 Steak
Diamond helmet - You may swap 1 helmet for a teammates helmet, in case of a ninja, scout or assassin you get no helmet. 30 second cooldown and if you respawn/die, both armor pieces are restore to the original players' armor piece
Diamond boots - You may swap 1 pair of boots for a teammates boots, in case of ninja you get no boots 30 second cooldown and if you respawn/die, both armor pieces are restore to the original players' armor piece

***Key Note*** you cannot swap both Diamond Boots and Diamond Helmet to 1 player that already has one of the Boots or Helmet.

    Armor
    Full Diamond Armor

One of the good things that makes heavy fun to play (for me at least) is the simplicity of it. I feel like it being a class that relies on 0 special abilities unlike most classes is its saving grace. To be a dominant heavy you have to be good at one thing, and that is pvp.

This would do very little, even on Ninja. Here's the damage calculations for ninja with no armor:

Here's the damage calculations for a ninja with diamond boots or helmet (they have the same armor value)

The difference for ninja is miniscule, and it only gets smaller for the other classes.

Heavy is good because it's simple. It's the default class and has no abilities. I join a duels server and there are too many classes to even begin to decide. I love that CTF goes "here, try this. You'll even survive long enough to experience the game." If new players are confused or overwhelmed, they're less likely to begin playing, let alone stay.

League is a much more confusing game, yet way more popular. Other servers also are more complicated, but I think that's what makes people want to improve. I would be more overwhelmed if I thought I could kill everything and tank everything but realize I could not do that. Exactly what heavy is right now. I think regardless of what newer players will think about it, we should be thinking about how can we make it more interesting to play. Implementing interesting ideas will only intrigue newer players to play it more. But keeping it stale and boring will only turn new players away from wanting to play the game. yes, it's fun to have simple classes, but I think the more the game evolves the bigger the community will get.

I really don't agree. It's a simple default class that is actually pretty strong for how basic the kit is. It doesn't need a rework.

Sorry, 5ive_Head, it's a creative idea for sure but I'm on the "nay" side here too. If Heavy were to see any change, I'd like to see a knockback reduction or knockback immunity...but that would require other changes in order to balance it - especially for Archers who typically only have their knockback arrows as a survival option when a Heavy charges in.

Heavy's claim to fame is that it has gone the longest in CTF history without being changed. NO other class can hold a candle to how long Heavy has gone without being tweaked. :grinning:

pretty much paraphrasing at this point but I'll add my bit:

Heavy is intentionally designed to be bare bones basic so that new players aren't immediately confused by the vast spectrum of abilities every other class has. It gives them a chance to take the hits from these classes (most of the time) at a very high rate, which allows them to learn about them faster. Heavy is also not the only free class - some new players are just too new to the game to switch on their first run here.

And of course, you can't have Brawl CTF without a fair 1v1, with just raw pvp, so the sweats have their way of maintaining their Chad authorities as well. I'm not against heavy receiving some kind of ability in the future, but as I've said multiple times in the past, this gamemode needs some help before they give up their only callback to vanilla.

I disagree. I believe Heavy is fine the way it is, as to reiterate, it doesn’t require any abilities on the player’s and focuses solely on one’s ability to click and aim. It’s the simplest class in the game and, personally, the best class a newer player can start off with.

Sure, it may get tiring and repetitive, but I feel that it gives newer players more viability when it comes to fighting other classes and getting used to the game mode, as said players don’t necessarily die as quickly given the bulk the class is. When they find their footing or find out how to change classes, they usually go on to venture and experiment with other classes.Your suggestion seems to be a debuff on the heavy’s part, but correct me if I’m wrong. The debuff might totally disrupt or make it harder for the former.

***** Not sure if relevant *****

Heavy as it is has been a subtle saving grace to newer/older players who have been targeted. I find that when players are victims of targeting, the default class players USUALLY switch to is heavy. Same goes for players who fight hackers or test to see if other players are hacking. Sure, heavies (especially buffed ones) have the ability to shred, but there are multiple counters in game to them. Quite frankly, a change to the class is not necessary.

Your suggestion, however, might be a cool additional class. Seems like a spin off of the Pokemon Ditto, where a player can copy the armor (and maybe even ability) of a specific class for a set amount of time before restored to default + cool down with said ability.

I think heavy is where it needs to be. Although I like your idea, I could see it becoming its own class.
