Idea Win effects / Victory Dances

    I have unlocked every class and every quick chat command, so I have been wondering how one could spend your credits on something useful. I came up with the following idea:
    After every capture, recover or victory (ill take capturing the flag as an example) there will be a flag capture effect, such as a nice particle effect to congratulate you. There could be many different particle effects, of which you could choose from. This would be possible for Projectile Trails, Death effects and Victory effects.
    For the Victory effect, you could either have the "MVP player" get a special effect or choose a random player out of the winning team and have their victory effect displayed (only players that have purchased a victory effect will be able to show off said effect, every player who has not bought a victory effect won't taken into account.)

    Here are some examples:
    For the MVP effect, the player who has gotten MVP would have a diamond trail follow him to where ever he goes and diamonds raining only on him.

    For the Capturing effect, a Firework would launch after the flag has been capped.

    For Projectile Trails each class would have its own Projectile Trail, a flame particle for the Pyro's Arrow, a water particle for the elf's water arrow and a white trail for the Archer's arrow.

    I like the idea of a capture effect, but not the other ones. For example, death/kill particles I feel would take up too much room and would make it to where you can't say (unless it was like a ground particle). Same with your trail idea. Projectile trails are interesting, I +1 that idea.

    I considered kill effects before submitting my idea, I believe it'll cause too much "noise" (by noise I mean too much going on) and that it'll cause distractions mid-game.

    Of course not everybody has to have a projectile trail selected, you could simply turn it off or add a setting, where one player doesn't see effects mid game at all.

    The victory dances would ofcourse happen in the 30 second period, until a new map has been set.

    I love this idea, (as someone who also has all quick commands and all classes) adding particles after killing / capturing the flag would add a little bit of fun to the game. Also this gives me something to spend my credits on so i also love that :joy:.Would love to see it implemented! +1

    I vaguely remember that particle effects and trails were not a good idea simply because CTF already has tons of effects and trails going on, mage, lightning, etc.

    Victory dances on the other hand are a better idea, for example, MVP riding an ender dragon, or wither, or having a TNT cannon (that actually destroys the map which will be rebooted and fixed of course for next game automatically). Things like that can really make it more interesting and could also be an aspect of buying a rank, having like 10 victory dances in total, and 1 is free for VIP 1 cooler one is free for MVP and 1 even cooler 1 is free for ELITE. This would make getting an ELITE just slightly more interesting but every bit counts I guess.

    Well I also thought that these trails and particle effects would only show, when the player has a kill streak going on, with this way, you could also implement kill effects.
    Examples:
    If Archer has a kill streak going on, their arrows would have the trails, they have purchased.
    For an other class (Heavy), the kill effect would only show up, if they are on a kill streak.
    This way it would be also easier to identify people, who have kill streaks going on.
    For the death effect, you could apply this too or just keep the death effects without having to be on a kill streak.


    Yes I agree with you on this, but they should be either purchasable from the shop (with irl currency) or with credits / tokens. It would focus on the people, that actually saved up their credits and on the people that want to spend their money.
    I would prefer that the effects for the ranks, can only be used from the people, that have the rank (so that people can't buy it with credits/money).

    Yes of course majority can be bought with just the credits but I suggest also having 3 that ranks instantly get access to, this way adding more worth in buying a rank.

    this would be really cool. I like the idea. My only gripe would be that people might start to abuse them for toxicity sake since even the /L and /gf quick commands are banned in PPMs and frowned upon in officials. Just saying that some people in particular might start doing the electro shuffle after targeting someone for the 38th time.

    Hell yeah, I think over time I have warmed to this idea more and more, would be a great way to customise player experience plus I like the idea of the particles taking effect once the player is on a ks.

    However, this is always a valid concern when this idea comes up, especially due to potential confusion for a new player joining the game. There are a tonne of particle effects in place that give you indication as to what is happening and learning them whilst there are a bunch of customisable particles in play would be potentially difficult. Maybe there would be some way of distinguishing the game particles and personal particles to reduce this confusion.

    A very simple +1 for the Victory and Death Effects though. Nice work!

    I think that the idea of victory effects when capping or recovering etc. is cool, but tbh it's not super appealing to me. In chaotic and crowded situations where there's a lot going on around the flag carrier or flagroom, e.g. mage spells, hordes of defensive/recovery players I think that it would make things even more cluttered and confusing. So I think that it if it were to be implemented, it should be limited it just to capping.

    However, I do like the idea for the MVP particles. If I understood correctly, the particles would only be visible between games so I'd be onboard.

    As for the projectile trails I think it's an interesting idea but not essential for the game. You can usually determine the source of an arrow (class) after one has been fired. Also as someone who often plays elf, I wouldn't want water element projectiles to be more visible because without the sneaky aspect of it, it would be much harder to swoop into the flagroom unnoticed.

    Overall, my preference would be to only limit the effects to the time in between games. Or have the option to disable in-game ones. I like the idea of the MVP particles. But I think that other particle effects should be as they are now only available to ranked members or for donation purchases because they're just aesthetic changes.
