CTF Political compass (Americans)

From the UK. I follow American politics very closely, but I answered these as if they were designed to be taken by a Brit.

Spoiler: Explanations/Thoughts

Economic: I honestly don't know enough about the economy to realistically call myself a socialist, I'd just be roleplaying as something I don't fully understand. But I definitely agree with socialist ideals vs capitalist ideals.

Diplomatic: No surprise there. Nations are a long outdated concept IMO, and the only reason why having different Nations shouldn't be abolished is because a lot of countries have a lot of catching up to do (e.g, try integrating countries like Poland with modern abortion laws, or Saudi Arabia with modern LGBTQ laws).

Civil: Again, no surprises. Government should stay out of people's lives except when doing so would improve it.

Societal: I don't know where that 8% of traditional score came from. I am 100% against keeping traditional values if the only reason for doing so is "cus it's tradition".

Spoiler: Explanations/Thoughts

Constructivism vs Essentialism: Yeah, this is accurate for me. The school system is broken IMO - the majority of stuff taught in core subjects is useless to most people once you get into high school.

Rehabilitative justice vs Punitive justice: Again, very accurate. I don't think punishment should be a factor at all in the justice system. Prison is only necessary to protect society from dangerous people, and should be reformed exclusively to rehabilitate criminals rather than punish them.

Progressive vs Conservative: Not sure where the 2% conservatism is coming from.

Internationalism vs Nationalism: Covered that in the Diplomatic section above. Hot take: there is absolutely no reason why Europe (except for Poland, Hungary and Belarus), Canada, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand and Australia shouldn't be merged into 1 nation. :L

Communism vs Capitalism: Again, while I'd say I'm a socialist, I don't know enough about economics to know if socialism/capitalism would work.

Regulation vs Laissez-faire: I don't know much about economics, but I know enough to tell you that companies don't have your best interests in mind. IMO, the market should be regulated wherever doing so would improve the market for the purpose of serving consumers.

Ecology vs Production: This is probably the only thing I'd consider myself to be a centrist on. Preserving the environment shouldn't be done if the only reason is "for the sake of preserving the environment". But stuff like preventing climate change, preserving biodiversity, keeping natural beauty alive and ensuring nature still exists in urban areas can all be justified, and should be prioritised over profits.

Revolution vs Reform: This is the only thing here I disagree with. Revolutions are perfectly justified in many circumstances (e.g whenever people's basic human rights are being abused), but in the UK, there are very few instances where revolutions are necessary.
