I think that it would be extremely useful to meet requirements for map submissions if we were able to play test the different classes. This would be especially useful to meet the ease of leaving requirement for Soldier and Elf. :grinning:

a seasoned enough map maker can usually tell each class' capabilities if they examine it thoroughly. the problem here becomes that, unless you can manage to get 20 people on your map, testing in small numbers or even solo is hardly effective aside from perhaps noticing errors in the terrain. testing periods exist because it not only allows for this normal size to be achieved naturally, but it also tests the extremes of casual to see how a map is balanced in comparison to comp verified maps (i.e. if certain maps work well in 10v10s or 25v25s). i'm not against the idea, but i don't think it would accomplish much.

Yeah, that's true, but I also recently found out that this has been suggested in the past and it made servers too laggy :/ Thank you so much for responding though! :grinning:

Disagree regarding original statement, would be very helpful to be able to actually shoot a bow to see if certain spots are headshottable etc. You can make estimates but even as a long time map creator its hard to know things like that. However there is the ability to test maps in PPMs which helps identify these problems so whilst it would be cool to have this, probably not necessary.
