    When I was playing today I saw that the archer class is generally seen as an annoying class because (I think) of the one hit kills, so I had the following idea to somewhat balance it out but also keep the unique aspect of the archer class


    Powering up to kill:
    Killing a player fills your xp bar 1/3rd when using the power up (certain button assigned to do this)
    It does extra damage
    1/3 = 30% more
    2/3 = 60% more
    3/3 = insta kill

    further elaboration:
    So in order to one shot someone that’s full health you need to power up by killing 3 players (without using the power up in the meantime of course) then use the power up and shoot someone.

    The minimum range (which I think is 20 right now?) is removed as compensation.

    The range is currently 30 blocks.

    Having an archer need to kill people in order to get its ability to instakill makes the class difficult to play because it's not that easy to get a kill without instakill.

    However, making it instakill at any range after you kill 3 people is beyond overpowered...

    Archer is annoying on casual CTF for two reasons: 1) There are no limits, so you'll usually see 5 or 6 on each team in bigger games, and 2) The players that are on Archer in casual are typically either new to the game or have no sense of how to play objectively, so you get bow spammers etc., and then they get bullied to oblivion by regs without really having a chance to correct their ways. Casual is a mess, and it's best you understand that now rather than later. New player retention is astronomically low for a reason, so having the dexterity to push through the many inconveniences of casual is a requirement if you want to have fun.

    So would something like a limit depending on the map be a good idea then? Or is that something that has been discussed before?

    Its been discussed before, not specifically for each map though. That just seems like too much work for devs to do and keep it updated.
