I hang out in private channels. I also mentioned that I do not get on it a lot due to it not being a convenient tool for me to use at the moment, if I were accepted it would then become a useful tool for me due to me using it to interact with the community.

Although I see where you are coming from, I believe you should spend more time in public channels.

Also, the "if I were" phrase makes me doubt that. I've seen people say that before and never execute it.

There's no real way to assure that other than just saying I will like everyone else. I have tried going back on now and again, but I just get spammed by trolls since I got no one to talk to really. I am pretty open to doing it, its just I have no motivation to at this moment.

Then find the motivation. This is a voluntary work, not a free rank, after all.
