Kirby super star ultra is the one I play the most on DS so I guess it's my favorite c: but I can't really decide between that and super smash bros. What about you?
Kirby Super Star Ultra was one of the funnest (and the original Kirby Super Star on the SNES too) Kirby games I've played. Lots of memories c: And the True Arena was truly something too.
I miss them very much so as well. Kirby 64 lot, although the Zero 2 boss gave me some nightmares. The silliness from the old games and scariness (Dark Matter) gives it that nostalgic feeling. What are your thoughts on the more recent Kirby games? Kirby's Return to Dream Land, Triple Deluxe, and Planet Robobot.
They look so fun honestly :d too bad I don't have the time to play them and I haven't really thought of buying them in the Nintendo Shop. I bought Pokemon Moon yet I haven't finished :c

I can tell you what the experience was playing Kirby's Return to Dream Land was like if you want. Spoilers too?
Starts off with Kirby and the three others, Metaknight, King Dedede and Waddle Dee. They see a star shaped portal appear with a ship coming out. It was being blasted by a 4 headed dragon. Magolor, the owner of the ship requests the help of Kirby and his friends. 5 of the main parts to repair the ship and 120 mechanical gear things have been scattered around the planet. (1/10)
The gameplay is fun & silly. There's super abilities that are completely ridiculous but silly. Destroying everything in there path and revealing obvious secret portals that take you to a strange dimension to fight these 'Doomers'. Mini-bosses that give gear parts.
Obviously they're there to obtain 100%
It's like other Kirby games and lovable to death. (2/10)

Cookie Country (World 1)
Raisin Ruins (World 2)
Onion Ocean (World 3)
White Wafers (World 4)
Nutty Moon (World 5), this world is where you get the fifth part is not as easy. The Grand Doomer is the boss and becomes invincible. Buuut it spawns in a Knight enemy with the super ability. *Insert special cool music* You use that special ability to defeat the Grand Doomer. Woo! (3/10)
Magolor then wants you to go to a far away area in-which he helps you.
Egg Engines (World 1)
Dangerous Dinner (World 2)
Now this is where the game really begins. At this point, it gets really difficult. It's mechanical everywhere and secrets are everywhere and oh boy it's beautiful. (4/10)
Now the boss for Egg Engines is a General robot, not generic but General in military sorta thing ranking. Upon defeating the boss, you go towards Dangerous Dinner, which is filled with lava and fun. Upon reaching to the supposedly final boss, Landia, the 4 headed dragon that has a crown on it. (5/10)
Magolor wants that crown oh so badly. During the boss fight, the dragon does neat attacks, then separates into 4 smaller dragons upon taking certain amounts of damage. When you finally defeat the dragon, Magolor reveals his true intentions, gets the crown and turns super evil. He couldn't get the crown because Landia was too powerful. (6/10)
Landia, the 4 dragons help you on your quest and going into a dimension where you will fight Magolor's ship, Lor Starcutter. With really nice music! The fight is hectic but awesome. After defeating the Lor Starcutter/ship, you go to the final plain field of space where you fight Magolor's advanced form himself. Goes into crazy powerful mode after going to half hp. (7/10)
When supposedly defeated, he becomes 'Magolor's Soul', which is an insanely hard fight if not careful. Amazingly tense music and rewarding upon defeating him.
Thought that was difficult? Well play through the game again, with half health and special bosses. It's like Expert mode and it's a lot of fun! (8/10)
Then there's the 'True Arena'. Oh boy.. This really determines your skill and knowledge of the game. Fight all mini-bosses, Doomers, bosses and Galacta Knight. The fight on Galacta Knight is somewhat normal, no special music yet until half health. The music begins and it gets hecticly awesome. Absolutely thrilling to play. (9/10)
Theeen you get to Magolor Ex and Magolor Soul Ex, somewhat the same but a lot more difficult & interesting with more move sets. Magolor's Soul on the other hand is the equivalent of playing the highest difficulty. If done successfully, you shall see that you've beaten the True Arena! A wonderful accomplishment. I did many speed runs of True Arena. (10/10)
Honestly it sounds so fun! I just watched some trailers of the game even though it came out in 2011 :p I love the new bosses and the places have such weird yet funny names xD the way you describe it makes it seem like I'm missing out. From your description of Magolor, I can already tell that my blood would boil if I tried to beat it xD
I haven't played any of the newer versions and when you mentionned that there's places filled with lava, I was pretty surprised :o There's even new things Kirby can transform into like a cowboy! And how they put in special abilities makes it look so fun! Even the graphics improved :o I'm missing out on much :d
It's truly amazing! Graphics are wonderful too! And yes, a cowboy Kirby is absolutely silly. Oh yes! There's a newish game that's basically focused on robots. Planet Robobot is a lot of mechanical fun. The dragons are only shortly seen & fought against in brief but tense battles.
