yeah i understand its popularity but I think that's what leads to the fallacy. Because so many people believe it, we're inclined to think it must be reasonable, when in fact it isn't. ya feel?
There's nothing to disprove it, and all it takes to believe is to have faith. Only if the theory is fundamentally disproven does it become "unreasonable"
It's a theory, albeit what I would consider to be a stupid one. When we look at the term "reasonable" it's pretty much from our own perspective. What you seem to be unreasonable might be perfectly fine for those that true follow the cult of the flying spaghetti monster. In objective terms, you can't prove it doesn't exist, nor prove it does. Whether you want to have faith in it or not, well, that's your choice.
To properly explain however why I put the religious argument above every other argument, is because the thread's about religious debate. If we were talking about flying spaghetti monsters then that's what I'd be arguing about. I don't personally view it as any more right, it's just the topic at hand
To me, there's a difference between discussing something and accepting it as a legitimate theory. I enjoy debating creationism and God and I'm happy to discuss it with those who believe, but that doesn't mean I will ever accept it as a legitimate theory.
