Sheriff application for your alt

What's the problem with having an alt as sheriff?

Transferring gear between accounts, going after Bandits that just killed you, aiding teammates...

Do I seem like the person who'd try to do that?

Anyone could do it which is the issue. Random made a rule that sheriffs had to be sheriff on their main accounts. You're applying to have it on your alt.

They changed the rule, you can be sheriff on Alta again.

Makes no sense but my vote will still stand. Anyone who applies for sheriff for an alt isn't willing to commit to it.
