what? I thought the whole point of the paradox was that it's impossible

    Nothing's impossible for God.

This just sums up the "what about God" argument and how stupid it is. Gehenna, do you recognise how difficult it is to have a debate with someone such that whenever you show an impossibility or something that doesn't make sense, they just wave it away with "but God". Can you see how annoying that is?

I don't know what you're getting at. Does God have to be limited?

I'm getting at the idea that it's impossible to debate someone when you can answer every question with "God did it". Imagine a political debate where one side has some ridiculous ideas that will never work but they believe in the supernatural Spaghetti Monster that will make them work:

"How will your policy work?" "Spaghetti Monster says it will."
"Who will implement the policy?" "Spaghetti Monster will."
"These experts say your policy doesn't work." "Spaghetti Monster says it does."
" This policy will kill millions of people." "Spaghetti Monster doesn't like those people."

You see how pointless that debate has become? It's not productive at all, because the crazy side doesn't have any LOGIC or REASONING, they just keep spouting "spaghetti monster". It's the same thing with God. You don't tell me HOW God can break the laws of physics, or make an impossible thing possible. All you offer me is the conclusion "god can do it, because he is god".

Essentially, imagine how annoying it would be if you asked me "how does evolution work" and I said "it works because evolution is supernatural and can do anything". That proves nothing, helps no one, does nothing to advance the conversation. It's a pointless argument.

Maybe God doesn't break the laws of physics. He made physics after all. Maybe our laws of physics are the wrong ones.

Why do you need to know the answer to everything God does and how He does it? How did He part the Red Sea? How did He create the universe? How did God Himself come into existence?
Stop asking foolish questions, and just accept the character of God.

Imagine an old man giving a kid a piece of candy. Someone approaches him and asks him why did he give that kid some candy, why was it a good gesture, why did the kid deserve the candy, did the old man consider the kid couldn't have candy, and did he ask the kid's parents.

Omg, just shut up and admire the kind, old man. You don't need to know every molecular thing about him.

"maybe our laws of physics are wrong" they have been proven true mathematically and empirically time and time again. if you want to disprove general relativity, be my guest but I don't think you can.

"why do you need to know the answer to everything God does" BECAUSE YOU'RE MAKING BOLD AND RIDICULOUS CLAIMS WITHOUT BACKING THEM UP AT ALL

I can use this logic too. "why do you need to know how evolution works? stop asking foolish questions and just accept that evolution is true."

If you told me you could fly and I said "how" would that be a foolish question? It's the same with God. I don't care what you claim he can do, until you can prove to me otherwise he is still bound by the same laws of physics that we are

Also the old man analogy is way off and I think you know that. Firstly, it's not about WHY he gave him the candy. We could argue all day about whether or not God is good and whether or not we're deserving of anything, or whatever, but that's not what I'm arguing. I'm arguing that the CANDY ISN'T REAL. You still haven't proved to me it is real, so I'm going to assume it isn't.
