I honestly do think that melting's app was great doe. It didn't go off topic (huh um mojang) and had all the questions answered without writing an essay
Quantity = going off topic. Quality = staying on topic with good details. Good details aren't necessarily long and stay focused on the topic. You really can't have quality and quantity at the same time when it comes to answering questions.
Sig's app had a LOT of unnecessary details such as ''The most important aspect of being a Moderator is to be active and helpful in-game'' and ''As Ole would say, I am indeed active and helpful on the Holy Trinity.'' (No need for this) and also most of what he said in ''What is your experience and knowledge of Minecraft?'' is just plain old off-topic storytelling.
I agree with Jingca, most staff prefer quantity or quality.
My application at the time was roughly 1.75k words not my best amount but its indeed true this fact. Most of the moderator apps that were accepted had over 1k words besides the early applications. Melting was a good candidate but had written more quality then quantity therefore denial.
