And you don't know that they are trying to get their post count up. For all you know they could actually mean it.
Besides, post count isn't needed to be a staff member, it's the quality that really matters about forums activity.
I sort of agree with Fire. At least the person could spend an extra 30 seconds of their life making their message special rather than just "Good luck".
You can wish good luck, but make it more than a 2 second "Good luck".
Maybe say something that will make the OP feel even MORE happiness by seeing that someone felt that they could take 30 seconds out of their day to make something special for the person.
Well if it is just to get an extra number on your post count then I disagree. If the person can't spend a good 30 seconds saying good luck + something creative, then I dislike it.
Honestly, I don't see why I can't type "Good luck with your ____, and of course, happy hunting!" on a thread.
I'm not boosting my posts, and even though it's not as creative it still gets the point across.
Crap community is crap.
In more than one way.
Just because I choose to make a short message that gets the point across, doesn't mean it's pointless.
Why should I spend a lot of time to make a unique good luck message for each clan, when I could simply use a short and clean message?
Honestly, giving negative ratings over that is mean, and uncalled for.
I would agree with you here if all the person put was a plain "good luck" or something. However, if a person takes the time to write a properly formatted good luck and happy hunting message, then the OP will know that said person actually means it.
So it's not pointless.
I hate to write cheesy or overly exaggerated statements for good luck messages. A properly formatted message should be able to get the point across, without making the OP feel like the poster doesn't care.
Most OPs only want that anyways. If they get an overly done message, they can tell that it's fake, and then they don't get that feeling.
All I ask is that you do not give negative ratings to those who want to leave a Good luck message, unless it obviously has no work like "gl" or "good luck" or similar.
It's rude and uncalled for.
Chill out.
For a post to be good, it doesn't have to be long.
In fact, those shorter messages are more friendly and get to the point more quickly.
Plus, at times, they can be more humorous.
I find something like that more casual, as opposed to a serious message.
Let people joke around. When they spam posts, then it gets serious.
And no, just a bit of that wouldn't be considered post spam.
Supposed I, out of the blue, posted 50 spam messages, meaning absolutely nothing. It would only be 5% of my total posts, it is still *POINTLESS* (Hint at the rating) spam.
Just because you have a lot of posts doesn't mean you can spam...
You're lucky I look into a huge number of factors before deciding if I should give the rating or not instead of blatantly giving a dislike to every good luck post. :V
Yo Luke, where you posted those 2 posts by me, the first was because I was teamspeaking Snail when he HIT level 100, and the second was because Edin is my friend.
Aaaand he said "If you want to ally, just say 'ally pls' in the comments"
So I posted "Ally pls"
