I've actually been really active on the forums and check them every day, but I guess that's your opinion and I won't try to persuade you differently.

And you are never in public channels.

The recommended amount is 250-300+ I'm a little under the required amount, but I think it is okay. And I do spend time in public channels now and then it is just no one joins them and I usually spend and hour or two by myself sitting in public channels.
