the idea of a subject "too serious to joke about" is a socially constructed protectionary measure designed to make one's self appear morally elevated and less open to criticism. however when you really get down to it, you dont care.

you scold me because theoretically speaking, being seen doing that will earn you social points because people will think youre a nicer and more considerate person than me.

but if you really cared, you would be starting a movement. you would be making a difference by trying to eradicate the kkk from existence. but its not something that matters to you, so you can afford to use your supposed "morality" to win points on the internet

Do you understand the idea of an opinion? I care, because thousands of African Americans were impacted by the KKK and it was an awful time for them? Just because I don't start a freaking movement doesn't mean I don't care. By your same logic I can make fun of everyone beheaded by ISIS or killed in 9/11 because I haven't started a ****ing movement over it. You seem not to care and for that yes, I am scolding you.

the difference between a joke and a terrible thing to say is the intent. do you honestly believe that i support the kkk? its a known fact on the forums that im persian and jewish. if i support isis beheadings and kkk lynchings, that requires action because it means i have a moral compass that leads me to harm others.

but perhaps i was wrong about your social points. the reason you are so uncomfortable around touchy topics is because you have failed to come to terms with them. just because i make a joke that you deem "immoral" doesnt mean that the kkk went out and killed some black people.

i see no logical reason for why you feel the need to scold me other than your own squeamishness and inability to comprehend the ****tiness of the world we live in.

Again, your points are entirely incorrect. How do you know someone on the forum's relative wasn't tortured by the KKK, or similarly hurt. Jokes can change things. Just because you have lost all emotional sympathy it seems doesn't mean you have be an utter *** to everyone.

I suppose that since jokes don't mean anything I should go make fun of all rape victims everywhere that are considering suicide because my jokes don't mean anything.

There is a difference between making fun of something and talking about it. That has not been made clear to you apparently.
