It's very complicate.
I know he doesn't hack because of the following reasons:
1. When he hit the recorder, he used a shot gun.
2. When he knifed that person, he was in range of knifing that guy.
That makes him not a hacker.

And also, if you did have force feild, then how come, right before he used the shot gun, he was in range of the recorder so that means he doesn't hack.
