Terraria is awesome m8! It can hardly be compared to Minecraft though. While it may seem similar at first glance, they have core differences. Terraria is more combat and goal oriented while Minecraft is more building and exploring oriented.

You start with a copper pickax, ax, and short-sword. You craft by cutting down a tree with your ax, going into your inventory, and crafting a work bench from their. Then you can craft all kinds of stuff. There are different crafting stations for different items though, so use the wiki m8.
