Nimai... You don't even understand what abortion is about... Please don't go talking about a subject you have no knowledge of. The whole point of abortion is for mothers who don't want or can't afford a pregnancy.
From a legal standpoint, if life begins at conception, abortion violates the human rights of the baby, and therefore, by law, should be illegal. I would rather play things safe and error on the side of mercy (for the child's sake) than assume that life does not begin at conception.
We hold these truths to be sacred & undeniable; that all men are created equal & independent, that from that equal creation they derive rights inherent & inalienable, among which are the preservation of life, & liberty, & the pursuit of happiness; ...
Anyways, one of the objections to pro-life is in the case of rape or death to the parent (and thus both parent and child). In the case of rape, I still have to side in favor of pro-life. From my point of view, a life lost (even a potential life) + rape is worse than simple rape.
Some if you might not live in the U.S. but... well I doesn't this sort of make it seem like abortion should be illegal? "life, & liberty, & the pursuit of happiness..."
I view abortion as wrong, and two wrongs don't make a right. I can definitely understand if people see differently to me on this one. It's an extreme example, and one very difficult to resolve.
There's no need to delete what I say, I'm just stating. I wish I could be in a better place than here. Even the moon, where I could be alone. If you want to understand me, don't just erase my words from mouth or rather keyboard.
People could object that the abortion is covered under the pursuit of happiness part of that. However, in the founder's days, the term "pursuit of happiness" legally refers to property. The founders were adamantly in favor of property rights due to mistreatment by the crown, but that's an entirely different matter altogether...
People who have or are depressed, cannot escape the fact that they are depressed easily, even the people who seek help and are aware. I for one believe, that what accumulates inside of me is either guilt or sadness.
"The whole point of abortion is for mothers who don't want or can't afford a pregnancy." Then @Skulduggery57 back to my old point, why did they have this baby in the first place? Unless it was not in their power to choose like rape, etc.
ANYWAYS, back on topic. As for when either the baby will die through an abortion, or both the mother and baby will die, it's truly hard to say. I'm not a Utilitarian, so I don't view the act of an abortion as morally right even in this case. However, when faced with this decision, an abortion seems to logically be the lesser of the two evils.
Let's move on of this abortion topic, I understand people have their choices. The choices though, makes me wonder though. What if I, you and that stranger's mother thought about getting an abortion, if so we wouldn't argue about this topic if so.
I wish people find their own way of living life, no one should live how I do. Despite me having friend's and family with support or "support". I only trust one person in the world.
But once again, this is an extreme example. Most abortions done are not for either of the two previous examples. Anyways, here's a reason that I personally dislike the notion of abortions even more. This reason is definitely not for everyone, but I hold to it regardless.
I'm almost done m8, lemme finish. I'm not even being argumentative. :V In a nutshell, the founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger, was a well known racist. One of her goals was to wipe african americans off the face of the earth.
Of course, this is not what planned parenthood intends today. Regardless, most of the clinics are located in areas where many african americans live. However unintentional this might be, they continue to fulfill the perverted vision of its founder by keeping the population of african americans down via abortions.
I really want to say "ew" LoL at the moment, but I enjoyed the game in the past. But I no longer understand the game's concept. (Sorry for the negative sentence next)
Actually, never mind I will keep that to myself. No one needs to know, no one needs to feel the way I do.
@randomcitizen1 I agree life is precious but I simply do not think it is right to deny a woman the right to choose if they were raped. I think it is very important to take both the rights of the mother and of the unborn child into consideration here and if we are going to do that then the mother should not have to have a child if they were forcibly impregnated.
I do greatly respect your opinion, and I may be gravedigging this discussion a bit (its interesting to talk to people who aren't idiots), but I think the only answer when dealing with a hot potato like abortion is to meet in the middle. By being either completely pro life or pro choice it is impossible to fairly consider the rights of both the unborn child and mother.
It's really simple.
Abortion should be a right, on CERTAIN circumstances. A mother should NOT be permitted for abortion IF she has financial capabilities, a proper environment, and is of legal age to be a guardian. If she is raped, preferably, in my opinion she should just use adoption. But, if it's too emotionally scarring, abortion should be an option.
So, we should turn the cheek from abortion in most cases, however we mustn't forget the rights of the mother. I'm not religious, but I do also believe an unborn child has rights. Abortion debates will NEVER be won or lost. You are either 100% pro-life or 100% pro-choice -- and if not, you will have an opinion like mine, in which abortion has its circumstances.
That being said, it's my opinion and I really don't care (nor have relevance, I'm not a mother or a woman) I think we should really leave it to women to debate, and stay out of this. I'm out
