As for ideas, idk, there's been some good ones in recent times. No HM slaves, characters with some backstory, the wild area, regional forms, etc.

Just bring back Mega Evolution, the national dex, contests, overhaul the crap out of the graphics, and expand upon the concept of the wild area. That should be the way forward. Oh, and actually have some characters that aren't **** since they were all **** in SwSh. And cut it out with the god awful handholding.

I doubt Gamefreak will ever let pokemon die. It's too profitable a franchise and any other project done by them is a massive failure. Remember that town RPG thing they made, Little Town Hero? Also, unironically, if Gamefreak did something stupid again, it may actually be a good thing. If they **** up enough times, people will stop buying their products and they may change their policies or methods of making games...
