    This is to op, because, for the same reason i suggested it to be a donor primary in my post on it, you can get a really good weapon (iso, demolisher, LAW, ect.), and move quick enough to knock out people then get the sheild back up, even with the immobility.

    this is the worst perspective on the riot sheild someone has EVER posted so far.

    Make it a retextured Wood sword, then it has a low attack and a blocking option (thats going to be sucking up 90% of the damage instead of 50%) and when you get shot while blocking with it is damaged :smile:
    Costs: 550 credits to have one round
    Otherwise great idea!

    It breaks after being shot after a certain time, and replaces the knife / superknife, so they have no Melee any more. If it's a primary, it'd absolute horsecrap. You'd have no primary, so you're basically useless, especially if you don't have scavenger. Link me to your post, please, I'd like to see your "balanced" idea.

    You can flank them. They have no protection on the sides. If there's two guys vs. one w/ the riot shield in an open area, the riot guy doesn't stand a chance.

    Nice idea! But I would also like to it at least purchasable on the store for those who also want to get it just like that! :grinning:

    I just want an easier way to get it besides the trophy points kdr/lvl/credits or buying it online. Reasons
    1. Some people can't donate.
    2. getting 24 trophy points is kinda hard for people new to the forums.
    3. Some people will have to waste a whole year to get there kdr high enough/lvl high enough/get enough credits.
    Maybe just have it so that you get it at lvl 31 for 1000 credits and at least a 1.00 kdr that is more reasonable so u have to get lvl 31 and have 1000 with at least a 1.00 kdr.
    That is all I am asking for. THX.

    How about, guys, we make a compromise. It's both available as a donor item, and as a forum-unlockable item.

    Ahem. Not a compromise! What about people that aren't on the forums and can't donate? Just make it accessible at level 31 and you need a 1.00 Kill-Death Ratio and a spare 1000 credits makes it easier for everyone. It is that simple.

    At least make it obtainable at a certain lvl and a certain kdr and atleast 1k credits for people that dont get on the forums and for people that cant donate

    I'd say no to that, because then everyone has access to it. There are certain items that should be limited to certain groups of people.
    I disagree, because of the following:
    • The Riot shield would absorb all damage for a certain amount of time (Until it is destroyed), whereas yours only absorbs a certain amount.
    • Having it for a one-round item? And at that price? SuperArmour is far better.
    • It provides 360 degrees of protection, the Riot shield is actually realistic and provides approx. 90 degrees.
    • Also, the wood sword would look really strange, especially when retextured, to other people.

    IRL, riot sheilds only protect from about 85% of the damage, as bullets sometimes break through, and the force of bullets that don't is really hard. I've done reports on S.W.A.T. and police, so I should know.
    this would also actually provides a cover of about 145 degrees, not 90, get your math right.

    Approximately 90 degrees, if not less. I rest my case.
    Alrighty, change of plans for the Riot Shield. Or at least the way it absorbs damage. 85% of conventional (bullet as well as Xbow & Demolisher) damage is blocked, but most other types of damage are entirely blocked, i.e. Grenades, if they land in front of the user while the shield is deployed, it will do no damage. Likewise with Molotovs, Flashbangs, and Tomahawks. However, all of these do still damage the shield, and eventually it will break.
    No, I just don't want every noob running around with it. Can someone please second / validate my opinion?

    That quote tho. If you press f3+b, you can see hitboxes. And I guarantee you, that the hitbox is different than you described.
    It is approximately 14 pixels by 10.

    oops, tried to eliminate some unwanted stuff in your post when I quoted it, and forgot to get into my own post:joyful: the hitbox is 10x10, I dont know what your looking at:confused:

    Yeah, it's 10 x 30 x 10. Not " 1/6 of a block length-wise on the torso, 1/2 for the legs and head, and 1/4 if a block width-wise", and that was a very approximate sketch, to show you what I meant.

    riot shield will only cover a bit over the edges.... so technically i don't see why you guys are fighting over it
