    If compassed are made rare, then sneaking up on people would add a new strategy part to the game. However, super rare compasses would make hackers all powerful, they would be some of the only people to see others coming.

    Or maybe it fluctuates depending on walls in the way or lighting conditions for the thing it's detecting?

    Perhaps they need to be made non-stackable, if that's possible.
