Negative ratings.

This will cause allot of hate -1

 

Negative ratings can only be removed one by one, therefore staff can only undo the ratings you have a link to. If the player has spammed you with 20+ negatives, it will be difficult to find and patch it all up. I've been through that process so many darn times it's not even funny.

 

I can understand your reasoning for negative ratings to come back. However, the idea of having a certain amount or negative ratings to gain Moderator doesn't seem completely right to me. Like what if you posted a thread about an suggestion and tons of people disagree, just that one thread messed up your chances for Moderator. In the end, I don't really see any benefits of bring them back.

 

If you want that feature, get this guy to code it in next update. :V

 

I would love to see it back but to see it used to create a limit to stop somebody's application is completely absurd.

 

Both of these are terrible arguments in favor of negative ratings. Why have to deal with something like this when you don't have to? Here, let me use your words in my argument. Just because "Life isn't just sunshine and flowers" doesn't mean that it is completely without them! Why allow this place to be corrupted like the rest of "life?" Why can't this place be a sort of escape? There is simply no need for negative ratings to come back. I really hate it when people say things like this because to me it sounds like they are saying: "Well, life isn't all that great, so we need to teach people that life sucks. We have to prepare these kids for later on in life when things really get bad, by making sure that their experiences aren't only good, but also bad as well." It's not as though they won't learn that life isn't all good if they don't learn it here. It's not as if we don't have enough garbage going on in our lives already. Why add to it?

 

And that is why we have positive ratings. It is so that people can get happy if they do good things. negative ratings are for when people do annoying/bad/pointless things. It is a way to show that they did something people dislike. It is supposed to be balanced. It should not be that there are only positive or only negative ratings. that way it is in no-ones favor. having all of them is in everyones favor. makes everyone happy. allows for more choise. etc.

 

If someone talks trash and needs a negative rating, just report them instead.
