Unblocking the word 'damn'

I would like it if it was un-censored, most people don't say damn or use it negatively, but I don't think its a big priority at the moment and therefor we should just leave it as it is for now.

 

Well, personally, I was really frustrated when they censored 'damn' because it's a word I use in stead of other more serious swear words. I use it a lot, and it sucks that if I just say 'Damn it' it looks like I said a worse word than it actually is.
I don't think the word 'damn' can really offend somebody. I mean, the worst thing you could say is 'damn you to hell'... and if you get your feelings hurt from something as simple as that... uh, good luck on the internet.

I understand that there are younger kids that play MC, but in this generation, most 10 year olds use the 'F' word in their everyday chatting.

Jeez my long posts. The point I'm trying to get to is that I think it's unnecessary for 'Damn' to be censored because it's not really a 'bad' swear word, in my opinion.

 

It was not just that, it was a long series of events that led to it. My point was that words held strength. One big influence was death of family. Words on the topic resonated with me, but not in a comfortable way. It was unsettling, losing relatives so quickly between each other. Whether it be conversations of remorse, regrets, or of times shared, it spurred my thought to one question. Why? As I listened to what I heard, I found no answer. From there, my depression grew. As I slowly accepted the thought of death, its certainty and tragedy, I slowly became convinced the same was for life. It took some counseling and a lot of reading the Bible to bring me out of it. I specifically read in Ecclesiastes. Of all I read, what I think really became the foundation for my revival in spirit was in Ecclesiastes 3. The purpose of my life is to live. I feel confident to say that as long as I live, I have something yet to do. The day I die is the moment I have done all I needed to. There is a time and purpose for everything. It is not my place to try to understand it all. Only to cherish what is here in its time. Because in time, all things will pass away.

"What do workers gain from their toil? I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race. He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God."

Anyways, I know I'm kind of late to the party, but personally I do not swear. But I do not care if someone swears at me or just swears in general. I wouldn't care if the "F" word was censored or not. So, I would suggest to just leave everything as it is. I'm 11, and I don't care, BUT, from a poll that I took a while ago on the server, ages range from 7 to 18. So those 7 year olds don't really need to know those words yet. (Yes, knowing the state this world is in, they probably do know them. But for the ones that don't we'll just keep it from them.)

Damn, i overuse the Word damn too damn much. Some damn person should fix the damned censor that damned my entire vocabulary damnit!!!

Okay, well here is how I see it.

Everyone is not raised in the same environment; in some households, words such as "damn","hell", and "ass" are all seen as completely unacceptable language.

While many people may be fine with these words, everyone needs to keep in mind that there are many younger children who also play on the server; many children whose parents would find it completely unacceptable for their child to be exposed to such language.

Is it that hard to say, "dang", instead of "damn".

We want the McBrawl community to be as appropriate, unoffensive, and as fun as possible to people of all ages.

This CAN be achieved. Even if some disagree, what is best for the community is what is best for the community. Keeping out as many offensive things from the server as possible is a great step.
