I have to be with both sides on this.

Hacking is wrong, and EBKN should be punished. Let's say a man is in Canada, with a spur natural talent of super speed like hacks. A reporter, the moderator, sees this and takes pictures. That super speed man goes to USA, (McBrawl) and uses his speed, would reporters not follow him for the epic ness? This is like he hacking. Something just doesn't go away because it's somewhere else, and especially if it is I front of a moderator.

Now for EBKN's perspective:
He only used the hacks because Raziah said he had his on as well, so he thought it was OK. Also, there are no "public" rules stating you cannot hack on other servers, even if it is logical not to.

No one deserves a punishment, as both sides have thief strong and weak points.

Simple compromise:
Simply give EBKN a temp ban (3 days) from now, because he assent aware of this. Also, Raziah should have been mature enough not to joke about hacks. The forums and I games would update rules, to make sure this flame between staff and members happens again, or civil wars will happen. Take this for consideration everyone.

BTW: I'm not taking anyone's side, and of EBKN wants to come back, he must appeal.

 

In my opinion that is an extremely stupid system.

 

Think about it like this:
You go to Great Brittan, then bomb a town square. A CIA agent notices you, and notifies the US. When you try to return to the US, you're probably going to be detained, because they know you could be a threat, right?

 

Why are you guys making elaborate real life examples that barely relate to the topic of hacking?

The basic point is, since we know he has hacks, and has the power to use them, we don't know if he's actually a threat. In the majority of cases, the answer was 'yes'.

I think it's important to have downloaded a client once in your life... In all honesty though, don't use it on a server you enjoy, just test it. It's important to understand what hacks are and aren't. So many people scream "hacks" in chat as they have never used hacks and assume the worst. By downloading a client, you actually will know what are and aren't hacks. So yes, don't use hacks to play competitively but also know be well rounded when it comes to the knowledge of hacks...

What one does on another server is completely irrelevant to McBrawl.

Yes, hacking on another server whilst it being known by players/staff of McBrawl will undoubtedly give a bad impression, it is still irrelevant so long as that person isn't doing the same on THIS server.

Of course this can't go for all cases; I could see how this rule could be enforced if the player were threatening to hack on McBrawl whilst hacking on another server, but that is still on the edge.

As I believe someone said in previous posts, the only reason that this sort of ban would be plausible is if the following player were truly seen as a threat and/or danger to the McBrawl Server and Community.

Of course both arguments on this topic are valid, but at the end of the day it comes down to the staff to decide which is best for the situation.

If the player hacks on another server, and is indeed witnessed by a STAFF member of our Network, I don't see why he shouldn't be banned.
Hacking is against the rules on the very vast majority of Mc servers.
