Build-a-Fanfic

Game similar to two-word stories; write one paragraph, then the next person appends another paragraph, and so on.

Rules:
* DON'T end the story.
* Try not to kill off too many characters.
* Try to form coherent speech and grammar.
* Don't be stupid.
* Don't insert some random hero(ine) or villain that drastically changes the story.
* Don't employ any sudden and random plot twists.

I'll start.

Once upon a time, there was an Ashley and an EBKN. They lived in Brawl City as neighbors in a small suburb. One day, Putty sends associates to summon both of them to his office on the top floor of EvoGames, Inc...

 

The great and powerful Putty just stares at Myortvye, his jaw dropping thirty stories to the ground. After gaping for a moment, he quickly regains his composture and shouts, "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING? GET OUT OF MY OFFICE IMMEDIATELY!" About then, Myortvye makes his hasty exit with a quick tp typed behind his back. Putty is annoyed. Putty is not nice when annoyed.

As such, Putty reaches under his desk and punches a small hidden button. Immediately, several high-voltage laser weapons are produced from the ceiling. They swivel in their cradles, turning to face their target. "Oh shi-", starts Myortvye. Those would be the last words he says in his life, although he never finishes the phrase. When the pandemonium dies down, Putty turns to face the one remaining visitor in his office.

"Sit," he commands.

 

"Psst. Hey bud. Want to buy some white powder?"

Ashley didn't think it would ever come down to this. With Putty gone and Myortvye dead, Brawl City had descended into chaos in the past five years. Citizens rioted and looted everywhere, screaming for the vengeance of War 2.0 and McMoba. Chaploo's SMod Forces had been working around the clock to keep the peace, but they were simply outnumbered. Finally, Chaploo had given up on ths idea of freedom. He changed his name to Emperor Chap, then proceeded to arm the SMod Forces with deadly weapons, instructing them to end the turmoil by any means possible. Those who questioned his strategies simply disappeared.

And now, here was Ashley. Selling drugs in a run-down alleyway. She hadn't chosen this life -- it was forced upon her. EBKN had swapped allegiances at the last seconds, turning to Chap and betraying Ashley. He had been rewarded with power and money, although not without cost; Ashley had given him several broken ribs before he escaped her wrath. Now, stripped of her money, assets, and friends, Ashley was forced to do rather uncouth things to survive.

Money exchanges hands. A bag of chalk-white substance is passed. Two people walk out of the alley in different directions. One escapes safely; the other does not.
