Yeah, maybe you should be restricted to make applications until you get a specific forum rank.

What if it were a dummy group that had it, so for me it would be where mc-war mod is? Seems like it would work, although a little spammy.

i think this is a cool idea, but i think like chickenputty or a mod/staff member should promote you base on a vote. If not, someone could just reply/post random stuff and get the "forum god"

 

That's called spamming, and is bannable. The staff are busy even in their current stat, ego point in giving them more of a workload. I think automatic would be the way to rule.

Well I have been a moderator on two forums before so I know that ranks does create an environment where the users want to rank up in forums but doing it in a legit manner and posting useful comments. I will say that your idea is a good one, but the post counts need to be tweaked in order for them to appeal to the users in my opinion. This also will allow current staff to know who is active and who is not so that when they apply, they can sort out the yes's and the no's.
