Brawl's War CTF and TDM as com aped to MCPvP's eadshot for CTF and TDM

    Now, before I launch into specifics, let's go over the outline of each server:
    Headshot on MCPvP:
    Few maps made
    Few to no regulars
    No committee
    No funding
    No attention form staff of any kind
    MC War:
    Seems to get plenty of attention
    Many game modes
    Several maps

    Okay, so from this it looks like MC War should be better right?

    Headshot CTF:
    Pros:
    +Fantastic maps:
    + -Open
    + -Nice-looking (except blackout)
    + -Easy to navigate
    + -Balanced
    + -Symetrical
    +Used classes that, for all intents and purposes, were pretty well balanced
    +Used guns
    +Several classes provided many strategies
    +Custom RP
    +Simple
    +Often 1 or 2 captures happened in a game with multiple steals
    Cons:
    -Some Lag
    -No admin attention

    MC War:
    Pros:
    -Uses guns
    -Diverse gun selection
    Cons:
    -Horrible maps:
    --Closed
    --Hard to navigate
    --Almost impossible to find the flag
    --Asymetrical
    --Ugly (worse than Blackout)
    -No classes, just gun selection
    -Complex and hard to learn
    -Almost impossible to find flag room
    -Nearly impossible to steal let alone cap
    -Weak armor
    -Almost no healing ability
    -Sponges are terrible
    -TONS of lag

    Now let's look at TDM:

    Headshot:
    Pros:
    +Good maps:
    + -Diverse
    + -Open
    + -Navigable
    +I won't go over the classes again, but those are a +
    Cons:
    -More lag
    -Not as newbie-frindly

    MC-War
    -Horrible Maps
    - -Constricted
    - -Hard to navigate
    -TONS of lag
    And the classes are the same.

    My point?
    An underfunded server that was effectively shut down 2 months before MCPvP failed and earned nearly 0 income, ran on spare RAM, and got 0 attention, is effectively better than one of Brawl's main servers.
    I'm disappointed with MC-War. Now this doesn't speak for ALL of Brawl's servers. I kinda like MineStrike, despite the lag. I like the diverse gameplay of WarZ. I like the octane feel of Party. But I am disappointed with MC-War.

    Mc-War is being revamped in 2.0. It'll be better there. The lag is sometimes bad sometimes not. Personally in my opinion the maps on Mc-War are amazing, they're re-makes of Call of Duty and other maps which I find makes the game fun, I never played much on MCPvP, but when I saw my friends play it I thought the maps were okay.

    MC-War is inspired by Call of Duty,Sir.
    And it has horrible maps?LOL

    This exactly, except they're not inspired by.
    They are remakes of the maps in CoD.
    The maps in War are fine, you just have to know where to go. You can't sit sniping in all of the maps, and that's why we have guns OTHER than snipers.

    You know the Owner of Brawl (@Chap) built Beaver Creek for McPvP? We simply brought it over to War.

    All (more like majority) War maps are based off CoD (Call of Duty). The flag locations are based of those in CoD. This is also why our maps aren't symmetrical.

    War was developed long ago. It hasn't received any major updates in a while, so it's not exactly built for 1.8, thus causing lag.

    Considering you're from McPvP, it's likely you'll favor headshot over War. It's all about preference. If you were to ask a War player the same question (one who's played McPvP's headshot of course), they would likely choose War. You also claimed headshot had next to few regulars. War has hundreds of regular players, so we must be doing something right :wink:

    As others have said, War is being completely redone (less lag, easier to understand, more CoD like feel, overall much better than the current). The new War will make the current look like a knockoff, so just hang onto your pants :wink:

    Alright. However, I have played CoD myself and I really don't see much of a correlation. Additionally, I prefer a more Halo-esque gameplay style.

    Firstly, if maps (well, anything) is inspired from Call of Duty, it is probably gonna be pretty bad.

    For some time, I was a Headshot regular, and I kinda noticed that some of the PROs you mentioned for Headshot are rather inaccurate. The first being this: Headshot classes were more unbalanced than even CTF classes. Headshot classes have more imbalance than the average Survival Games on Hypixel - they're far from balanced. Soldier. sniper and recon were OP, demoman was balanced, and the rest were useless (apart from medic, which would've been useful in competitive team games - yes, all 0 of them).

    Next, the classes helped bring more strategy, but due to the health packs and the huge imbalance of classes, there were little to non. Compared to Mc-War, the skill cap on Headshot is the same as Mario Party 10 (a game where there's hour long videos of people winning doing nothing the entire game). If it weren't for health packs, and if the classes were balanced, then you'd be right an d there would bone a lot of strategy. Also, Headshot did get a committee member, who successfully brought in 1 whole update over the 6 months (although it wasn't his fault, more so the lack of coding time).

    As for Headshot's lag, "some" is an understatement. In fact, "a lot" would be an understatement too. Mc-War can get pretty laggy at times, except its avoidable by server switching. On Headshot, no matter what you do, you'll get consistently laggy games.

    Anyways, on to Mc-War. I personally prefer Headshot's maps, but Mc-War maps aren't as bad as you're pointing out. They play really well, if a bit lacking with aesthetics. Brawl has done a really good job at making something inspired from Call of Duty not a pile of bull-

    Mc-War isn't really hard to learn, just hard to get in to. Even as level 7, I've found myself completely dominating some 4v1's against people level 30+. Whether I'm just good (unlikely) or they're just bad, I've had no problem learning it, although it does seem to take a while to get a decent gun.

    Also, is there even sponges anywhere? I know there is at the start of the lobby, but not in any of the maps. Overall, I prefer Mc-War than Headshot, although I think it'd be nice to have a compass that points towards each flag as it does get kind of complicated at times.

    And yes, all my jokes and references were supposed to make you cringe.

    The maps in Mc-War are terrible, you have no sniping spots, and no open areas to fight. You need health packs. You need to know where the flag is. Most of the guns 1 hit people. There is a lot of ping lag. I would prefer MC headshot over war, although war is fun, that I have to admit. But you guys need more open maps, more sniping spots, less lag, and no over powered guns. The reason MC headshot wasn't successful was because it got lack of updates and lag. I'm a person who likes open maps, not closed. It took me a long time just to figure out to get a good tactic to get kill streaks. But Mc-war is fun still, just not AS fun as Headshot

    some maps in mc war are good remakes. some are not. It depends. some of the new maps like strike zone, octane, arkaden, freight, cargo, carrier, are well done. Older maps such as dome WaW, scrapyard, favela, shipment, countdown, and skidrow need a revamp due to being under detailed

    "War gets plenty of attention." Not true at all... the last 'attention' we got was over a year ago when they added the smgs.
    Your opinion is also very biased, as many players love the maps and aspects of War when they give a non-biased opinion.

    I'm finding Mc-War a lot more fun than Headshot. There are a few places where there's open areas, and who says there needs to be open areas anyways? Not all games have to be like that. Health packs ruined Headshot in my opinion, in a 1v1 it was whoever could use them quicker.

    I think there should be a compass to point towards where the flag is, even though I know where the flag is in most of the maps. Most of the guns 1 hit them... just like Headshot? Also, there are a lot of open maps with good sniping spots. The lag is an issue they know about, and you can easily avoid it by joining smaller lobbies.

    And by the way, closed maps often have a higher skill cap, as you need quick reactions/reflexes and you can strafe behind walls and stuff.

    A remake, if needed. Or a ton of updates to make it more up-to-date.

    CoD has a larger arsenal of op guns, but unlike War, it's fairly balanced since newer players get straight access to op guns too.

    You misunderstand. War is supposed to be based off cod, so the maps are the maps. That and If you are a low level, you will get obliterated if you stand still sniping or go to an open space.
    But this is a CoD sever, not a halo one. So it will have a more CoD-esque gameplay.
