First of all, I'd like to thank the owners of Brawl for buying CTF, Hardcore Games, and MC-Build so that we can continue playing them. I'd also like to flip off anyone who never donated to MCPVP, because that server was great and never should have shut down.

That's not what this forum post is about, though. You clicked on my thread to learn some helpful tips & tricks to playing CTF well, and I've come up with hints involving every normal class, and a few donor classes. Here they are:

    • Heavy Class - Heavies can be a real pain to deal with. If you plan to kill one, you have 3 options. The first would be to switch to heavy class and PVP them directly (The simplest solution). If you're too lazy to switch classes, or you have teammates nearby, you can work together to kill heavies. The only faster way than that (assuming you play normal, free classes) is to successfully headshot the player as an archer. You can't do this in close range, but if you're far away and you see a crowd running toward you, it's a good idea to try to headshot the heavy first. Speaking of archers:
    • Archer Class - Archer and Heavy have exactly one thing in common: They tend to be very annoying. If you're close to one, they will die after a relatively small amount of hits. The only trouble is that they're hard to get close to. Use whatever you can think of to get near them. Hiding behind/in structures, trapping them with cobwebs (Medic), and the infamous serpentine pattern will all help you deal with one. If you play archer, you want to find a nice, concealed spot, perferably high up, to headshot your opponents from. NOTE: "Headshots" have nothing to do with the player's head, but rather distance. Anyone you shoot from 25+ blocks away will die instantly.
    • Soldier Class - You can expect a soldier at low health to do the following: Run to the nearest structure in sight. Climb it. Taunt you from above. The best way to counter that is to shoot them with archer. You can also use a well-aimed and well-timed medic cobweb to stop them in their tracks.
    • Medic Class :grinning: This is the class I play, and for very good reasons. First of all, they can't set on fire, meaning that pyros can't touch you. You can also breathe underwater, giving you a quick escape if you need one. Speaking of escape, your snowballs will spawn cobwebs wherever they land, giving you a massive headstart on anyone who has the intent of tracking you down. I have little to suggest in regard to killing one, but don't forget to heal everyone you see!
    • Assassin Class - Assassins are like boggarts: There's a very simple trick to beat them. Holding block makes you immune to the assassin instakill.
    • Engineer Class  Try to approach the turret as though it were an archer, using the tips suggested above. Don't forget to destroy the cake before you attack the engineer himself. If other people start hitting you while you attack him, ignore them and focus the engineer.
    • Chemist Class :open_mouth::sunglasses: Like Ninjas, Chemists can and will make quick work of most any class. The best tip I can give you is to use our old friend Heavy to deal as much damage as possible.

With that, my list is complete. Happy Capping!

EDIT: So sorry, I failed to notice that with the new brawl servers, the archer "headshot" has been replaced with "snipe".

    Thank you!

I plan to make a new guide on the different maps and what strategies work well on them! Look forward to it!
