Idea Assassin rework ideas

    So Assassin is okay right now, but it's not really an Assassin. Berserker would be more appropriate. Its mechanics don't require the stealth and strategy you'd think the name would require.
    Here are some ideas to maybe make it more assassiny (these ideas could maybe be another class even, idk)
    *Note* these ideas aren't necessarily supposed to be a proposed kit. They're just a bunch of ideas I had, more for the rework to go off of one of these ideas, maybe two, but definitely not all.

    Mechanic ideas;
    • An ability where the name tag disappears completely to enemies. Of course only temporarily, maybe if they enter "assassin mode"? This would allow some stealth strategies without stealing the invis mechanics of ninja. You would have to use the environment more, etc. but I think it'd be pretty useful and make hiding/sneaking around much easier since you wouldn't have to sneak to get rid of the tag
    • Assassin Mode ideas;
      • You activate it and your name tag disappears
      • You gain Swiftness V (I think that's what the current Assassin's sugar gives)
      • You can instakill people if you're;
        • Behind them (backstab)
        • Jump off a ledge and then if you hit them while you're above them in the air (air assassination)
        • Shifting? (idk maybe incorporate this with those above ^^)
      • You have little to no armor
      • You have no weapon except your assassination weapon (and you can only kill people with maybe the above suggestions?)
      • You won't be instakilled in this form but you definitely can't fight people in a full out normal 1v1 because you can only kill people with one of the above ways(?)
    • Out of Assassin mode ideas;
      • You have medium armor (maybe chain chest and iron pants?)
      • Medium sword (iron sword?)
      • Some steaks (2-3)
      • This is kinda your backup mode. If you fail an assassination and they see you then you would switch to this form.
    Just some ideas to make the class more about stealth and strategy instead of just instakill or be instakilled.

    Assassin currently gets Speed III when it is on sugar.

    I think making assassin more stealthy is a good idea. It adds to the fun of the class, and makes it less of a suicide bomber idea.

    The 'assassin' mode ideas you described aren't to my liking. I would prefer an assassin without an instakill, but a balanced instakill would be fine as well. However, none of those instakill methods are balanced, and really don't change anything that is broken about assassin.

    I like the idea of adding more stealth to assassin, just don't make it too similar to ninja.
    The instakill is much better than the current one, but it is not completely balanced. I would rather have assassin's instakill completely removed, but a balanced instakill will be fine. A balanced instakill should:
    1.) Have a counter.
    2.) Give you time to react
    3.) Take skill

    Also, here is an idea for a more balanced assassinate:
    • It lasts for 5 seconds
    • All hits will do true damage
    • If you hit someone, they will be given wither 1
    • If you hit someone from behind while they have wither, they will be instakilled
    • If you are hit while in assassinate mode, you will be instakilled
    • You will gain speed 3
    • Your nametag will dissapear

    IDEA 1:
    Nametag-
    • Vanished at all times.
    • Has team wool on head.
    This requires stealth, hiding, and sneak attacks (ambush or behind).
    IDEA 2:
    Sugar-

    • Increase sugar to 3
    OR
    • Increase sugar duration.
    Increasing sugar to 3 allows for more stealth and surprise, like the class would be like.
    Increasing sugar duration allows for more sneak attacks, and allows you to go back to hiding easier.

    I would appreciate any constructive feedback with explained reasoning behind it.

    1.) It does have a counter, but the counter relies too much on ping. If they have better ping than you, or if you lag even a little, you're dead.
    2.) It is the truth that assassin doesn't give you time to react. Pyro and all non-instakill classes give you time to react.
    3.) Yes it is. It takes 0 skill at all, has a ping-based counter, and doesn't give you time to react.
    Is this for the OP's concept or for the current assassin?

    Is that an insult or am I missing out on something?
    I was giving suggestions to his suggestion to make it a little more fair. Just ideas.

    I think that assassin is kind of like a multi-use kamikaze CTF unit.
    And the defense against the kamikaze's in 1945 Pacific Ocean was a keen eye.
    Essentially the defense against assassins is to spot them before they get too close.
    As for lag, just blame Brawl for the troubles of lag.

    Still, assassin is OP. It is impossible to fix lag. A better solution would be to nerf the classes that rely on ping(like assassin)

    The air assassination could be it. If you fall and land someone = instakill to the enemy. 10 blocks will deal 3 hearts of TD. 20 = 5 hearts, 25+ = insta-kill.

    You can still make lag better.
    But right now there are times where lag is hell, which I'm sure that extreme kind of lag can be fixed if brawl actcualy got off the bed and did something

    Best way to sneak attack an enemy is to fall from the sky! Remember, when you use your assassinate, you are resistant to fall damage, but if an enemy blocks your assassinate, you will die if you fall from like 4-5 blocks.

    So by that logic, we need to NERF EVERY SINGLE CLASS because sword hits and accuracy rely on ping. #NerfAllClasses
    I'm sorry, but why should we nerf classes based on ping? And how does assassin rely on ping while no other classes do?

    Logic check please.

    You have a valid point, but Assassin relies on ping because: if the Assassin's hit registers before the target's block does, the Assassin gets the kill.
