Idea Heart Fragments: An idea that might make medics actually heal people.

    Sorry for the long title.

    This idea was inspired by https://www.brawl.com/threads/43095/, where an idea is mentioned that medics could get benefits for themselves from healing others. Then, just now, I thought of this.

    Whenever a medic heals someone, a Heart Fragment will appear at the location of the player healed. These are floating particles that are (if possible) only visible to the medic who cast them. If the medic collects a fragment, he/she will gain a buff depending on which type of fragment it is. All fragments have equal odds of being chosen. The buffs can stack to a limit, and if a fragment is stacked with an existing one, the duration timer will increase by half of its total duration (capping at the duration limit)

    The particles shown to the medic (the fragments) will be the particles respective to their abilities. A buffed medic will have an aura of particles (in the exact same formation as the aura cosmetic in the Brawl hub) around them. However, the aura will, for each buff, have a seventh of the total particle potential be of the fragment type (ex. Scorch fragment gives off a fire aura). For every one of a stack or for every new fragment type, the aura will grow. Maximum aura is 3 heart, 2 power and 2 scorch, which will create a full aura containing the ratio between particle types based on stack size of the fragments.

    Health Fragment
    Heart particle
    Health fragments give an extra heart to the medic's max health.
    Stack limit: 3
    Duration: 2 minutes

    Power Fragment
    Angry villager particle
    Power Fragments increase damage by 1, or a half heart (Should be possible via the attribute "attackDamage").
    Stack limit: 2
    Duration: 45 seconds

    Scorch Fragment
    Fire particle
    Attacks set targets on fire for 2 seconds. Players caught in the medic's web during this time will also be set on fire.
    Stack limit: 2
    Duration: 30 seconds

    Example:

    MrMedic is your average medic. He heals one person, and a health heart fragment appears. MrMedic collects it, and gains am extra heart along with a small heart aura surrounding him. After two minutes, his extra heart is almost gone. He finds another person to heal and-with luck-drops another health fragment. MrMedic picks it up and he not only gains another heart, but his duration timer goes up to 2 1/2 minutes. He heals someone else. A power fragment. Now, his aura is two parts heart, one part power, and four parts nothing. Luckily, many people nearby needed healing, so MrMedic could start a great combo of fragments. Before long, he had 3 heart, 2 power and 2 scorch. His aura was complete. Then an enemy heavy wandered into base. MrMedic used his abilities to gain the upper hand in the fight. His extra three hearts let him last longer in the fight. His +2 attack damage made his blade almost enough to rival a diamond sword. His fire went straight through the heavy's armor, and the heavy fell quickly. And MrMedic achieved this all because he healed people.

    P.S. The idea of healing to collect fragments that give an array of buffs was inspired by a game... Guess which one :wink:

    TL;DR Healing people gives heart fragments that give the medic buffs

    I don't see any need for this or benefits that come from it. (Aside from the obvious)

    Medic doesnt need a change
    The only change it needs is depth strider 3

    It seems like a good idea, but I also don't think medic needs to change.
