Hello McPvper's/Brawler's, PantyLines here with a (not so) quick post about how to play assassin more efficiently, including, not dying as quickly, using redstone (assassinate) smarter, and improving your skills as an assassin overall. (All sentences in this post are 100% my opinion and do not reflect anything upon anyone in particular, it is just a helpful guide)

Intro: As PantyLines, I am an assassin main, and I have been on ctf for a little over a year and I have learned a lot about gameplay and the knick knacks of how it works, from the transfer to brawl I have noticed a lot of assassins doing things I feel, could be improved, so; I decided to make a guide (from what I know and do) to hopefully help improve all assassins who read.
Assassin is generally seen as a defensive and recovery class, the class has just gold boots for armor, an iron sword, two speed III boosts, and most importantly, a one hit KO tool.
Assassins can be a very important asset to a team, if successful, they can one shot ANYTHING. Regardless of class, health, or how cool the username is! As overpowered as it may seem, assassin has quite a few counters buried within the layers of CTF, and in this first section, we will see the counters and how to maybe counter the counters.

Here are the most common counters to an assassin
    • Blocking ( an assassin's bane)
    • Pvp potions (Poison, Damage)
    • Ninja/Aspects of classes (In general)
Blocking: Oh, how all assassins fear the dreaded tool of blocking! The most commonly known counter to an assassin is blocking, if a player blocks, the assassin can not one-hit-KO. A few ways to bypass the blocking are, ping (naturally), faking, and surprise.
    • Ping is basically how fast it takes for something to happen (great definition) if an assassin has good ping and his target does not, generally, an assassin can kill in an instant, and no matter how many times you say you blocked, well, you died anyway. Not much a player can do to improve his/her ping, but if you have a good ping, use it!
    • Faking is where an assassin holds their redstone in their hand and switchers to a sword, as if they had used their assassinate but truly, it's still in their inventory waiting to be used. This is a strategy used by more experienced assassins and it can work and it can not. Another form of faking is punching (left clicking) an opponent with the redstone in hand while the target is blocking, causing them to maybe panic and unblock and start swinging, but with the ping lord assassin, they can quickly activate the redstone and kill the target before they can even swing their sword. There are more types of faking which include running away, (as if you had failed to assassinate) and different types of switching, or maybe even combinations of switching and punching.
    • Surprise. What a beautiful thing surprise is. Whether it's waiting behind a wall, camping around a corner, on top of a building waiting to jump from 30 blocks high to assassinate your target, or just using the terrain in your advantage. If you can surprise your target, this will highly increase your chances of being successful, the chance of surprise varies map to map, and area to area. Make sure to know your terrain (map) and always use the surprise method. Try shifting around corners, or in dark places, etc. and up until you're ready to click your assassinate, continue to be sneaky. It doesn't make sense to shift across the map and then run 10 blocks in front of your target dead on.
Pvp Potions (Chemists) Pvp potions include poison and damage potions. The poison potion is the worst of these two because it renders you useless. If an assassin is poisoned and they use their assassinate, they will die the next time the poison takes damage. If a chemist successfully poisons an assassin, the assassin is usually done for. But, it IS possible (if quick enough) to kill with assassinate while poisoned. If an assassin runs into a chemist with the flag, or just an annoying chemist in general and the chemist poisons you. It is much smarter to simply run away, or strafe around him/her. A poisoned assassin can't do much good, so simply run from the fight, but be ready to come back once not poisoned. Another helpful tip for evading potions is faking where you are headed. Act as if you are sprinting somewhere and either stop in your tracks and change courses suddenly, this will cause the chemist to have wasted his/her throw and maybe you will get your chance for the kill!

    • Ninjas. Ninjas are a big class counter to assassin. They can kill an assassin in three hits, they have projectiles to kill an assassin (if the assassin activates assassinate) and they can go invisible and completely catch an assassin off guard. A way to avoid some of these things is to: Catch the ninja by surprise, An assassin can kill a ninja in four hits, if you can get one from behind, it's usually already over. Make sure to keep moving when you think there is an invisible ninja near by, it is much harder to become visible and hit a moving target, than to re-appear from behind and slay you in an instant. Play cautiously when around ninjas.
    • Other class counters include, mage (ranged attacks) Don't just run straight at a mage, they kill simply shoot you down in a heartbeat, try moving around and dodging the mages spells, use your terrain to become harder to hit and then ambush!
    • Ranged classes, archer, elf, medic (webs) mage. This goes with the mage, don't run in a straight path, try moving around. It is MUCH harder to hit a moving target.
Since this was already a pretty long thread I will just stop at the counters part. Please let me know if this was helpful, or would be helpful. I know I left some things out, but please no rude feedback:smile: Comment what you think and let me know if you would like to see more  Thanks for reading this to the bottom or scrolling to the bottom

Nice guide. Chemists are just simply a pain to fight as an assassin, especially if they are a pot spammer.

What I do: run around the enemy for a few seconds and then go for the kill. I killed @Rollercoasterb8, @EpicXtreme and @Miskey.
