I Can't Kill With This Lag.

    It has come to my attention that CTF has been lagging. And not just lagging. But taking a ****. Like every game there would be a lag spike like, I don't know, every minute for 3 quarters of the game. I find this quite annoying considering it's impossible to play CTF with lag. As I main chemist, when lag hits, I'm screwed. Reason being I can't throw down a heal pot because of the server taking a ****. When it finally registers it doesn't happen where I'm standing, it happens way back there at the location I threw it at like 5 seconds ago, there fore I need to stand still to heal. Now that I've explained what's happening, I'm going to try and explain what's happening. My theory to why this happens is possibly because either brawl is having issues with there proxy setup linking to CTF, not surprised if this is the case considering this was a problem MCPvP had for 6 months and didn't bother to fix it. But it could also be that since CTF is hosted on the same dedicated server as every other server on brawl (Example being CTF 2, or SG 6, or WarZ 1) along with build, when someone uses World Edit on build, Brawl's host simply says no, and then takes a ****. This is only a guess but I honestly think that this is a proxy issue, or maybe even just the server running out of ram. On that note, please bring /lag back. Because I'd like to know if it's ping or server related. Anyway, the point is, no one on CTF likes this, I don't cause I can't kill ***** on all the Brawl scrandies, and that Nom most likely doesn't give a single flying ****. So I thank you for reading my complaint.

    yeah, i'm lagging as well, pyro arrows aren't exploding until about half a second AFTER full charge, takes 3-4 clicks to actually register a hit on a moving player

    Making these pointless threads about lag isn't going to help, all we can wait for is more RAM. Nothing we can do about it, so stop infecting the community with false claims of Brawl doing "nothing", please, just please...

    EDIT: Only staff members have access to the lag command (what ever the command is).

    You're concern shouldn't be lag. even without lag ur to nub to do good so lag reduction wouldn't change a thing :grinning: jk jk x3.
    Nah but seriously the lag can be a bit touchy at times but for me its not really unbearable

    It's the same thing as McPvP noobs. It's quite rude, but it's coming from both sides. Honestly just use generic rude terms: Ex: randie, not brawl randie. (Reminder: there are McPvP randies too)
    As to the lag:
    It's bad, and I think it has to do with the number of people on CTF. Why? Whenever someone connects to CTF, it doesn't connect them to the smallest game. It connects them to an active game. I don't like this. It concentrates the players so we get 35 v 35s. The amount of players needs to be evenly distributed. If we have 120 people playing, we should have 4 15 v 15s not 1 35 v 35 and 1 25 v 25, which is what I'm seeing.

    Lag is either just you lagging, or caused by a rendering issue on some of the maps. I only get particularly bad lag on certain areas of certain maps. This is pretty much unavoidable at the moment. Like the bugs, it will be sorted out in due time.

    No, i've noticed a definite change sometime last week, maybe. Wasn't so bad before then, after that it's been borderline unbearable.

    To be fair with anyone on ctf, the lag has not really bothered me too much atm.

    Personally I can feel a definite difference between brawl lag and mcpvp lag even with my rubbish computer.

    Pretty much sums up my experience with lag on brawl. I get a stable connection 90% of the time.

    I'm going to have to call bull**** on that, sorry, the lag happens on every map when there brawl is on its peak time. So my suggestion would be to dedicate more RAM to the server's to reduce the load. Or like what Sir_Inge said, do a bit of work on the proxy's and re code it to distribute evenly among the servers. It would be quite simple, just create a method that check's to see which server has the least players but not a super small game by using a few if statements and some thresh hold variables. Then simply tell the proxy to connect said play to the desired server! Done. An easy 10-20 minute coding job with debugging.

    Ofc there is lag.
    In the old days before Brawl, the only lag was mcpvp lag, which was pretty clear anyways and got filter out.
    Now, Brawl lag looks like it went through 5 miles of smog, and their 1x1x1 cm filter is shat and can't do crap.
    Like the beta excuse, excuses will always be used in forever time.

    Xelia_, this is NOT the map. This is 100% server lag. My fps never drop below 35 and my ping never goes above 60

    I'm glad its not only me who lags. When I drop a pot heal pot it takes a few seconds to register then I'm dead. Same with steaks. Also wall climbing when I wall climb it takes a few seconds to go up the wall.

    Must be, only some people get this lag. Me, among some others, don't get this issue.

    The beta excuse? I'd like to see you do Nom's job. Bugs need to be fixed before CTF is out of beta. Nom is on holiday, as stated Bird, so he can't currently fix bugs. Please be patient C=
