Story Mission: Vortex of Power

This continues @Pikmin_Hunter 's awesome story with a little twist of Evil-licious.....

@#$% the section commander of UIP Team 4 calls me and asks for a favor. As a "reformed" Super Villain I'm in charge of quarterbacking special missions as a "Metahuman Security Consultant", that's a fancy way of saying when sh*t goes down they need a meta human to bust heads and take names.

I'm a 'reformed' Super Villain because I saved the state of California, specifically the city of Santa Cruz from a Zombie Apocalypse one time. They have a statue in my honor in the downtown area. I'm mostly good now days although I don't work well with the hero crowd, they don't completely trust me and they grate on my nerves. I typically work alone now days, ever since @jkzoom retired.

Apparently, Space Rock or 'Vortex fragment' is rare and unclassified. I haven't studied it or been able to find much literature on it. My AI ROBBIE is running internet searches compiling data so I know what I'm up against.

Apparently, a small team of lap rats was tasked with investigating the situation and may have run into something. The section commander will let me know if I am needed.

I throttle my pencil as I work up specs for advanced combat armor, combat bots and refine my offensive weapons. If they need me for this mission they'll call the Red phone in my lair. Until then, I'll work on my tech, refine some theories I have on financial stock market manipulation, and workout.
