Idea Elf rework and concepts

    So, as most of you may know, Elf is kind of UP right now, considering it has weak melee and relatively bad arrows. It really serves no purpose besides to counter pyro (which really isn't that strong of a counter) and soldier. It is fun to play, and can impact the game somewhat, but no where near as much as most other classes (Except necro...rip). So, a major concept I thought of was to make elf strong when attacking groups rather than 1v1's. Let's face it, there are too many classes that excel at 1v1's (looking at you, chemist). Also, another concept that I thought of is that it could disable/reduce healing. Below is the current Elf kit:

    Here is my rework:

    Armor: Protection II, Projectile Protection I on chestplate; protection I on pants (same); protection I and feather falling I on boots.

    Sword: Wooden Sword with sharpness II (same). However, the deflection shield lasts 2 more seconds than normal, allowing elves to more effectively block projectiles.

    Steak: 5, like before, nothing special.

    Arrows: 10 arrows that regenerate slightly more quickly than before.

    Now here's where it gets a lot different...

    Pure Element (ghast tear): Landing 2 fully charged shots in a row results in 6 hearts of true damage like before, but it also has additional effects. Enemies in a two block radius take 1.5 hearts of true damage if they are within 2 blocks of the ally that took the second shot. Here's an example of what I mean (yellow wool takes 1 heart, black takes the full blow of the 6 true damage).

    In the screenshot, @2pekippy would take the full blow, and @FutabaY (currently Mich_Head) would take 1.5 hearts of true damage (thanks to you guys for help).

    In addition to above, 2 consecutive shots of the pure element would make the enemy that took the 6 hearts of damage be afflicted with "elf's bane," which negates all healing all on that player for 3 seconds, whether it be by steaking, potions, or medics. The enemies that took the lesser damage would be afflicted with "elf's curse," which halves all healing on those players (half time for regeneration, half the flat amount of healing of potions and steaks. Medic's regeneration effect would only restore half the health their target is missing. ex: missing 5 hearts, medic would restore 2.5 hearts). "Elf's curse" would also last 3 seconds. (pls make the flame particles disabled on pure element </3 - suggested by GalathundR)

    With the changes to Pure Element it would open opportunities to decimate crowded flag rooms, and waves of people trying to capture their flag.

    Earth Element (sapling): This would actually have the same effect as before, except for if the arrow manages to hit someone, it would do its normal damage to them, plus the "dirt damage," and another 1.5 hearts of true damage to the person the arrow hit.

    Wind Element
    (feather): This would have the same passive ability as before, which is being able to fly. The drawn bow would knock players away much further than it currently does. It would increase with effect the further it is drawn back.

    • No draw: 2 blocks.
    • Some drawn: 4 blocks.
    • Fully drawn: 6 blocks.

    Water Element (Lapis): This would also have the same ability as before, but an increase on the amount of time the resistance effect lasts. Say, about 4 seconds longer. Additionally, punching with the bow would instantly extinguish the elf if it is on fire.

    Conclusion: I feel like this rework would make elf much more effective than it currently is by providing a different kind of damage to the mix, and buffs its abilities. I know this rework is flawed, I mostly invented it to present some new concepts to elf. I don't know the limitations of coding either, so feel free to kindly say if you know something is impossible to code (@NomNuggetNom). All of the special abilities I added above also can't effect the same person twice within two seconds (The AoE true damage, the additional damage from earth element, the knockback from the wind element).     I really like these ideas to be honest. Would give the class more objective purpose.

    Finally someone who realises that you cant make use of the water element fast enough by drawing back your bow

    Suggestion/ Move or disable the flame particles when you shoot someone with the pure element. The particles just make it harder to aim when they block half of your view.

    Pretty good ideas. Right now, elf seems to be like an advanced fashionista (which basically means elf is very limited in what it can do)

    I think that Elf should be permanantly immune to projectiles. Itll make Elf a hard counter to Mage and Engineer and also immune to headshots. It doesnt have to reflect projectiles, maybe absorb them but itll make Elf a lot more useful
