    CTF used to look and feel much different. My initial impression when it was announced that CTF was moving to Brawl was that the game would be largely the same on Brawl as it was on MCPvP. Obviously, that didn't happen, and the changes that were made to the game aren't going anywhere.

    I think that a lot of CTFers from MCPvP would appreciate it if Brawl had a Retro CTF Server, if you will. A CTF server frozen in time from when MCPvP shut down, with only the changes that are needed to make the game compatible with Brawl. The server would not need to be updated with new maps or new classes. Once the server was running without bugs, there may not ever be a need to update the code at all. Also, it would be nice if Brawl could show a little more love for its new player base from MCPvP.

    What do you guys think? I for one would probably spend more time on this server than the new ones.

    There have been minimal updates after we moved to Brawl, however... I don't see much of a point to this, sorry. Even if it was like retro from 3 years ago, as much as I'd love to play that, I don't think a permanent server for it is a good idea.

    I feel CTF as it is now is pretty good. Some classes obviously have been nerfed, but over-all the gameplay is essentially the same.

    Unfortunately, I think the players who would play on a Retro server and the players who would play on the newer servers would turn into a divided community, which would be really bad. =/

    Yeah, I guess it wouldn't be good if the community was divided. Maybe instead of a whole retro server, we could have a Retro day. One day each month, all of the servers go back to the old version.

    The best way to show love to MCPVPers would be to give them long wanted and needed changes to their gamemodes.

    By the way, here is a list of the things that changed since CTF came to Brawl:
    • Banners instead of wool
    • New design for HUD and messages
    Can't really think of anything else right now. Not much to make a retro server from, eh?

    I think brawl has done a good job of keeping the game mode close to how it was left. if another server had acquired CTF, things could be much worse.
    For example, Mineplex acquired a server and it's gamemode around December 2014. They heavily altered the gameplay (probably to make it noob friendly). And then after 1 measly month after releasing the beta, they shut down the entire gamemode. Source
