Surviving Assassinations Without Blocking?!

    This is my, I don't know, 7th thread in a short period of time. I'm sorry for making so many threads, but I just sometimes have things I'd like to ask. Please don't flag me as spamming.

    Anyway, I've noticed sometimes when I'm fighting an assassin (I'm charging at the assassin and the assassin is charging at me and we're swinging our swords at each other), I think we simultaneously hit each other. I would get knocked back. The assassin, however, dies. What is this, a bug, or is this another super secret feature of CTF?

    Are you sure the assassin has used their assassinate?


    they may be hitting you with their redstone instead of their sword

    I noticed that when playing assassin, if you right click your assasinate close or directly at another player, it wont work. I don't think this relates to your problem but thought I'd give my thoughts :smile:

    Yes, I'm sure of it because when the assassin dies it makes the instakill sound (tool breaking sound).

    Interesting. I've encountered the opposite of this effect. While playing assassin, I've used my redstone and the split second I charge and hit someone they appear to hit me first. I get knocked back, but they die..

    I have never really noticed this too much playing assassin. The class has felt different to me since the move to 1.8 though. (Yes, I still hate the 1.8 update).

    This is probably caused by the fact that vulnerability lasts longer than insta-kill does. The time for the assassin to insta has run out, but the time for them to be vulnerable is still going. In that way, they can't insta you, but you can insta them.
