I would ask yourself some questions before you select a school.....

1) What do you want to study?
2) What do you want be as a career?
3) What are the schools known for? And how far are they from your family. Family and social support is key to success. Do they have a football team in a major conference?
4) Visit the schools.....each campus is different, the vibe can be diverse, and check them out in the winter. Are they fun? Are there a lot of things to do?
5) Try doing an internship to see what a day in the life doing the job you are thinking about is like.
6) How much does each school cost? Some offer scholarships but some are a complete rip off if you are getting some useless degree that doesn't pay anything like journalism. Match the school with cost for the profession.
7) Look at pay for the roles you are interested in.

8) In state schools are often a far better value than out of state schools for some lame degree that doesn't pay much. If you want to be a teach or something like that go to an in state school.

9) And this very important question......how Hot are the chicks!?!

I would recommend a degree in business, computer science, or some other mathematically focused work, they pay more and have higher prestige.

Schools that I would recommend for a quality education and value..as well as hot chicks: Berkley, Arizona State, University of Colorado (@Boulder), University of Hawaii @ Minoa, and Oregon.
