Idea ~An archer rework~

    • Abilities
    If you hold the gray dye it will change into a bow and you will have infinite normal arrows, normal shooting or "Normal Shot".
    If you hold the lime dye it will change into a bow and you will have 10 arrows (which regen the same as the snowballs of medic), when you shoot it poisons your target for 6 seconds, poison shooting or "Poison Shot".
    If you hold the red dye it will change into a bow and you will have 2 arrows (which regen 2x as fast as the assassins assassinate), when you shoot someone from 30+ blocks it will oneshot that person, one shotting or "One Shot".

    An Archer with poison shots and instant kills? Lord have mercy on me! (@LordChaos_92)

    Seriously though, it's a really cool concept but it seems needlessly complicated with all the dyes turning into bows and stuff. Not to say that it's overcomplicated, which it isn't, but that the simpler it can be the better right? :wink:

    Great rework! The 2 insta-arrows would definetly solve the instakillrain on maps likr desertstrike. Poisen arrows is a nice 1.9 feature added, but I have one question about normal shot, does it still have knockback enchantment?

    Anyway +1

    This seems like a good idea, but my keyboard/mouse suck too bad for me to make this work effciently. This would definetly slow down archer battles to. Meh, +1/2

    Why should archer battles be quick, I mean the main reason for Archer to still be here is killing the flagcarrier and maybe distract archers which doesn't need to be quick

    No, see, that's not my problem. That's a good thing. My problem is my keyboard, but slower archer battles im fine with.

    The idea itself doesn't actually look that bad. Removing the punch is a good idea. I do have three slight worries though. The first is that if you remove the punch without giving something else to make the archer more mobile, that archer is gonna be raped short range (which is a good thing in some ways, it's too OP short range right now) but the fact of that makes me worry that the archer is probably gonna camp outside the range at a choke point even more than it is now. I'm sure everyone hates camping archers already, so do you really want more?
    Secondly, that infinity arrow is gonna be bowspam at short range. I don't care if you have punch 2 on it or not, that arrow still has some knockback, and you're giving archer infinity arrows to spam with. I'm sure there's a way to address this problem. I'll let you know what I come up with
    Thirdly, archer is meant to be a free class. This rework seems a bit needlessly complex. It would make archer harder, a higher skillcurve isn't necessarily a problem. My issue is it's meant to be free and relatively quick to pick up, do you really wanna make it more complex than it really could be?

    1. Why would you carea about an archer camping whilst he cant headshot you every single time?.
    2. You can easily get trew an arrow spam if he/she doesn't have punch.
    3. How do you want to make it easier?.

    1. there are a lot of archers around cause it's a free class, they can still headshot you
    2. arrow spam isn't fun to deal with either way
    3. I don't know, you're the one with the suggestions xD

    1. With the less amount of chances to headshot someone that will not be a problem, people will understand that killwhoring isn't good.
    2. Isn't fun, but is getting killed by a ninja with the flag fun? :^)

    sounds ok
    the inventory is like that from the elf (that the dye changes to a bow is like the tree as elf)
    it would be a little bit more interesting if the normal shots can be headshots but only when you hit the hitbox of the head
    the red will be instakill everywhere right?
    will the bows have special effects like the archer atm ?
    the problem:
    in my opinion it is to much for an archer (3 bows)
    irl an archer has a normal bow and arrows which can instakill you so i think the archer of ctf should be a little bit like this
    it would be cool if you have different arrows to change and only one bow
    for example right to the bow are explosive arrows so the bow uses the explosive once
    or if you have the arrows like 5 sec in your hand than you use automatically these arrows
    conclusion:
    idea sounds ok but 2 many different bows (2 much like elf)
    and the red thing i would put it into the normal arrows because in my opinion the archer isn´t a pvp class so it is more important that the archer can kill ppl from far away better and not only give them damage
    the poison arrows sound good cause when an archer has explosive ones a pyro killsteals -_-

    but it wouldnt be so complicated :smile:
    the elf has many bows so in my opinion more difficult
    1 bow and different kinds of arrows would be cool
    i also wrote sth about that pan :grinning:
