Hold on, lemme prep my weapons for all the hate I'm about to get.
    Oop, ****.

    Well.
I've been wanting to do this for quite a while.
This is in no way an attack on the MPS network.
Any names mentioned here are being used as examples and are not meant to be personal attacks or harassment. If you don't like what you're reading, leave.

Alright. I think I have two main points with this.
I'll start off with the smaller one, that applies to less people.

    Staff promotion.
Yeah, I'm being butthurt on how I didn't get promoted. So?
I wouldn't be complaining if the promotion system wasn't so ****.
"What promotion system?", you may ask.
    Exactly my point.
    There is none.

If you can't apply for a promotion, how will the admins know that you're willing to step it up a notch and take on more responsibility? That's right. There's no way.

In fact, there's only one way to get promoted here.
    TeamSpeak 3.

As long as you're on every day chatting with Chap and Putty, you're going to get a promotion.
Doesn't matter how good or bad of a mod you are.
You're eventually going to get a promotion from them. Why?
    Because they like you.

    Oh, you want proof?
    Piece one. Dwarfiest.

Underaged, at only 13 years old.
Never really seen his judgement calls, but when I was on MC-Brawl with him, juggler was spamming racist remarks with his faction description. What'd he do? Nothing.

So how did he get mod in the first place? His application was accepted within 1 hour. Why? Chaploo likes him. And he just got Global Mod. Why? Chaploo likes him.

Piece two. Venom and Giggadream. I'm fairly certain you're all aware they're two of the most active people on TS3 with Putty and Chap. And look. They both got MC-Party moderator without even making an application. And I rarely if ever see them posting on the forums. If that's not blatant bias, I don't know what the **** is.

    Piece three. Me.
    Yep.
I'm going to be using myself.
Of course, this is going to be biased.

I'm sure you'd all agree with me that at the time I was mod, I was the most active forumer. Locked threads, reported threads for moving, all extremely quickly. And then I apply for the permission to move threads myself. Just that. Nothing else. Just moving threads. Now, I'm usually on TS3 only an hour per day, and I rarely, if ever, spoke to anyone with my mic. I'll let you make that connection. Putty even voted "no" on my application. He knows damn well how active I am on the forums. But I never talked and formed a connection with him, so why should he give a **** about giving me one extra permission to move threads?

Hell, I went beyond that. I wrote criticisms and suggestions on how the server could be run. I made a giant suggestion thread.

    https://www.brawl.com/threads/2530/ - MC-War Donor Gun Thread
    Didn't get added.
I'm fine with that. I understand. It was a suggestion.

https://www.brawl.com/threads/2066/ - Criticism on how MPS isn't as popular as it could be without niche server types.
No comment. Not in the forums, not in Staff Chat. Fine, I'll let that slide.

https://www.brawl.com/threads/3267/ - New staff application format.
This one is what pisses me off.
Highly supported, and the admins used it.
    But what did I get?
    I didn't get credit. Fine.
    But I didn't get a "thank you".
I didn't get a "goob job, we're going to use it."
    I didn't get jack ****.
They could have at least spent 5 ****ing seconds to say thank you.
Or at least say "we're going to use this."
    Five. ****ing. Seconds.

And what do I get for all this?
    Nothing.
Oh sure, I got MC-War mod. That was PistolParrot who promoted me, however.
    Not Putty or Chap.
I didn't get jack from them. Not even a mention.

    My suggestion?
If you're a decent moderator, and don't waste your time here unless you want to go on TS3 every day and jerk off with the others to advance and climb up the ladder.

    Alright. That's over.
Let's go on to point two.

    The community.

    I'm just gonna say it.
The community here is a pile of ****.
For the people who were here at the start of the new forums...
    Princess_Cutie.
You remember. The spammer. Idiot. Posted porn.
Went on for about 2 weeks.
    What happened? Nothing.
No admin intervention at all until 2 weeks later.

    And Staff Applications.
Blank ones, blatantly copied ones, no-effort ones.
I once reported a blank one to Putty. He just said "mm."
    Didn't do anything.
He was on TS3 watching videos. He could have paused it for 20 seconds and went to lock it.
Or, guess what? He could have given me permissions to lock it.

The main point I have here.
    Idiots.

First off, let's look at this argument between me and Cbsusd.

    Tell me.
How does "stealth" and the "element of surprise" not relate to each other?
Anyone with half a working brain knows that you need stealth to have the element of surprise.
What gets me going is how he continues to act that I misinterpreted his meaning of how the element of surprise does not mean stealth.
    Are you ****ing ****ting me?

Case two. This thread's too big to put in an image, so I'll just leave the link.
    https://www.brawl.com/threads/4870/
    Really?
I don't even know what to say.
Further down the thread, he says he's 16.
Yeah, and I'm a magical unicorn.

The community here is just full of idiots.
    Please.
I feel my IQ drop every time I visit this forum.
The only reason I visit this forum anymore is to shoot down idiots and talk with friends who don't have Skype. AHEM FIRESTAR AHEM COUGH COUGH

I could name at least 5 more people.
But there would be no point.
I'd probably end up writing the same exact thing out 5 times.

    End rant.
    Tac42 out.
    alsogoddamnedputtycirclejerksmakethemstopleaseimgonnashootmyself
    Oh yes.
    I forgot to mention.
    Paparoach183's application.
At least 4 current moderators wrote in the comments that he was a douchebag ingame, and would end up abusing.
And guess what? He got promoted. And we told Putty, he didn't want any of it.
And of course, he ends up getting demoted.
Could've bloody listened to the loads of moderators saying not to promote him in the first place.

Just to clear things up, me and gigga both got mod on mc-party for helping with the server. I built/helped build 4-5 of the arena's. Also I have 400+ messages 350 which have been since i've been moderator. I don't spam the forums but I try to post atleast 5 times each day. And I was promoted by PistolParrot, pretty sure putty and chap didn't even know me when I applied.

I have a feeling this'll get no replies from the community.

    Seems fair then.
Looked at your recent posts, you've only had around 10 posts the entire past week, though.
And by Staff Promotion I meant from mod to another server mod, not player to mod.
But here's my beef. Putty nor anyone else never offered to us to help build.
You had to be on TS3 at that exact moment and time to know that they needed help building.
    Skype chat? Nothing.
    Staff forums? Nothing.

So essentially, to get anywhere or keep up to date, you must be on TS3 all the time, which is not a viable for option for many of the moderators here.

Not really, Mr_O got on skype. He asked me if I wanted to build I said sure. It went from there. Putty didn't even know we were building the arenas until we were done with the second one.
I agree it isn't exactly fair to everyone, since he didn't offer it to the others. But you can always go on a creative plot and build something to show your skill then build some more. It's not like you don't have the opportunity, you do, you just have to act on it.

Also not viable for all mods. The most effective way would be to post in the forums.

The problem with your suggestion is that the admins rarely care, from my experience.
    Attempting to get Putty's attention?
Pretty much impossible, unless you constantly talk with him.
I could barely get ahold of him.

If you can't get ahold of the admins, how do they see that you're skilled in building?
I don't think the admins read every single post, so that's not a viable way either, unless you specifically ask them to view it, which links to my other argument: how the hell do you contact them without PMing?
And even then, they probably get 20+ PMs per day. They're not going to prioritize you just because you're a mod.
Everyone needs equal footing to be fair.

True it he can be difficult to get a hold of. I guess you could message him on the forums and post screenshots of whatever you built. Then ask for WE and continue from there.
I'm not trying to really argue that much, I kind of agree the system is flawed, but you just have to deal with it.

I mean that they could've posted in the staff forums for help. Also, i have a fairly easy time contacting putty. If it's a PM,usually takes him a day or two, but skype is nearly instant.

This wasn't so much an argument as a rant on what's broken and, to a lesser extent, how to fix it.
Then again, none of my suggestions have been considered besides the staff application format.
    So...
    Down the toilet, then?

    I like b too.
    b
    Do you directly PM him?
Before, I recall at least 3 of us were asking for Putty, while his Skype marker said Online.
Didn't come for around half an hour.
Sure, he probably was doing something.
But that's not the point. It wasn't instant for me.

I assume it's probably my fault, because I never directly PM'd him on Skype.
I never thought I was high enough priority or of enough importance to bother him directly.

In my opinion staff promotions are the most flawed. However, they could be fixed by setting automatic guidelines that promote you to a server of your choice. An admin may veto the promotion, but there must be a clear and concise reason.

if I have a question for him or a suggestion that I feel is important, then I try not to shy from directly PMing him on Skype. After all, how important could the things he's doing be?

    Are you suggesting automatic promotions?

    I fully agree with this.
Also, erm, am I one of the 5 members that drop your IQ?
    If so, I'm sorry.
Also, I too rarely see Venom or Gigga post. Gigga posts more often, though. In my opinion, he kind of deserves mod. Not bashing on Venom, but erm, he's incredibly inactive.

Sort of. When a mod reaches a certain level of activity and a minimum time has passed, an admin will be automatically alerted. Then, the admin is forced to accept or deny with a clear and concise reason.

There's probably more than five, to be honest.
I would rather underestimate than overestimate.

    And on your question...
Your posts that relate to your avatar of the day are somewhat irritating, especially since context is lost the next time you change the avatar, but other than that, you're cool.

If the admin has to ok it then it wouldn't be a horrible idea.

IMO, it should still be manual.
But there needs to be a better way for mods to notify the admins that they're willing to take on more responsibility.
Which is why I suggested the Promotion format.
People argue that admins should promote you as they see fit, but how do they promote you if they don't know that you want to and are willing to be promoted?
Of course, the same thing with Staff Applications could happen, and probably would:
They'd just ignore it for a looong time.

    Thanks ;3
I'm trying to not relate my posts to my avatar of the day/week/hour, but when they do, I try to make sure it doesn't completely f*ck up the meaning of it when I get a new avatar. Now, I must be off. People need saving in the Snow.

Maybe I just don't play on the servers you play on or something? But I agree that i'm not the most active on the forums. Having said that yesterday I spent at least 5 hours on warz and at least 2 hours on minecraft party. Also I was on teamspeak the whole day.
